Before he completed his suicide, He spoke about committing suicide. I called the suicide hotline and a suicide counselor met him and counseled him. He was advised to follow up with a Doctor but he didn't. Then a few months later he attempted to commit suicide. He went to the hospital, where they evaluated him and decided he was okay to go home. A few months after that, he completed his suicide. I believe he was very depressed. He was in a lot of pain...I believe he wasn't in his right frame of mind when he completed his suicide.My family and I are originally from Hawaii, but we are currently LIVING in Las Vegas. It hasn't been easy since Henry's death. There are still alot of unanswered questions. We will never know why! But we choose to live daily trusting in God!The hardest part for me is watching my children go through the pain. My heart aches each time my son cries and asks for his daddy.August 6, 2007 made one year since his death. We are still healing from the pain. We will go through the pain and we won't let the pain go through us.October 6th was Henry's Birthday. We bought balloons and made our cards, then we went to the park. We tried to release the balloons, but it kept getting stuck in the trees. So we packed up our balloons and brought it back home with us. It was such an interesting experience. The balloons did not want to fly away. I guess that was a sign...a sign of what I don't know...Only God and Henry knows =)2008 is a NEW year! It will be a productive year! I will continue to be an advocate for survivors of suicide. People who are considering suicide, needs to know the PAIN they leave behind. We need to speak the TRUTH in LOVE! The grief and pain will not conquer our family. We are Victors and not victims. I am here to tell you that there is HOPE! We need to stop the stigma of not talking about suicide. I will STOP glorifying Henry's action but focus on the real issues...Healing!IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING SUICIDE, YOU NEED HELP!! There are people who loves you and who you will be in pain and confusion if you commit suicide. DON'T BELIEVE THE LIE!!! PEOPLE DO LOVE YOU!! PEOPLE CARE!! DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES!! GET HELP NOW!!
