http://www.laweekly.com/la-vida/la-vida/howdy-partner/17024/ I LOVE vinylabuse.com and I'm just thrilled to have my name as neighbor to all the amazing artists they feature.
The lack of sleep is worth it when I get to read things like this. Thank you vox.com.
Who'd ever thought I'd be in a Yahoo Tech column??
I like how they call Howdy a loot lugger!
This article from shinyshiny.tv is extra cool because I've coveted many things from this site!
Felt Club!!! If you know about it - then you know what an AMAZING event Jenny puts on! If you don't know about it then you're in for a special treat. I'm just thrilled to be a part of this wonderful creative circus again - Lions - Tigers - and Howdys - OH MY!!! Your price of admission probably won't include a bearded lady, but it is LA so you never know! But fun is guaranteed for one and all!
Before I started reading Punk Rock Confidential I was unpopular and lonely. Now that I have a subscription my teeth are whiter and my bust seems bigger. Thank you PRC from Missy and Howdy! Kids, there's no money back guarantee, but I highly recommend it!
Check out the new ReadyMade magazine insert featuring your favorite never-do-well Howdy!
I didn't know reindeer were real until I was 33. I thought they were like unicorns - imaginary. I could however tell you at the age of 6 who Ginger Baker was and the difference between Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Okay, my childhood was a bit...ahemm, unusual.
I was raised on music and have been lucky enough to know more than my fair share of musicians. Some have been friends and some a bit more than that. Hell, I even married one!
With that tidbit of trivia about Missy Broome revealed, it goes without saying how absolutely thrilled that I was invited to be a part of the Guitar Hero II "Rock, Paint, Bid" auction. Basically, a roster of artists and musicians like Hot Hot Heat, Buckcherry (Josh, I know I'm a grownup girly, but I harbor an unsecret crush on you), Mr. Cartoon, Suicide Girls, Tenacious D, etc. were asked to design and personalize a Guitar Hero II game controller to be auctioned off.
Proceeds benefit the MusiCares Foundation. This foundation provides assistance to musicians in times of need. To learn more visit Grammy.com.
Go ahead and place a bid at www.ebay.com/guitarhero.2. It's such a small thing to do to give back to the people that write the soundtracks to our lives.
I'm super excited to let you all know that you can get wallpaper for your mobile that yours truly designed!!! All you need to do is visit www.rhino.com/ringtones and enter Missy Broome. Enjoy!
I'm one of the artists in this show! Opening reception is January the 23rd. Hope I see you there.
Thank you all for your support and business!!!!
It's December and I'm back in my favorite city (Tokyo) once again with my beloved Harajuku Howdy!
If you're around come on by and say hello.
Some very exciting news! I just finished filming with a crew from HGTV for a show that's called "That's Clever". Basically it's 3 different artist that are spotlighted making something they love. I'll be doing a guitar strap.
It should air sometime in June so I'll keep you all posted.
If you get a chance to pick up "Punk Rock Confidential" Fall '06 you should. Not only because it's a fun magazine, but I'm in featured in this issue! Thanks to all my great friends that came out to Brooklyn for my group show. Some of you extended your trips, some of moved them up and a few of you drove more then a few miles.
A nice little mention of me in Time Out New York.
Me in Alternative Press.

My Interests

Sewing, smooching and reading. Only because it's fundamental.

My husband calls me Stardust, Star, or Trinket, but by the look of things my "pet name" has always been in place!

Do you want paper or plastic? ...can I have METAL!?
I wish Lemmy were Santa and it was okay to be bad all year and he'd bring you a Jack & Coke and a Motorhead cd.

Big in Japan!!! Me in Tokyo being silly (how weird!) and being interviewed. If you happen to be there, it should air June 22nd or the 23rd. Arigato & Oyasuminasai (thank you and good night!)

Griffith Park fire from our bedroom window approx. 8 pm.Last night was an anxious one. To look outside your window and see flames and helicopters flying by is one of the scariest things you can imagine.Thankfully we are all safe. I want to thank all of our friends and family for your concern and the offers of a warm bed. You all mean the world to me!

I love walking around my neighborhood. Sometimes it's to the bookstore, sometimes to buy art supplies, sometimes it's off to a romantic dinner or just a stroll for cocktails.
What I also love is stumbling across little treasures like this.
Broken's a verb, but at least it can become fixed.

Kiss sang "Lick It Up".... Why not bring a saucer of milk over yonder and I'll sing you a lullaby that I call "Lap It Up."

In the Mark Ryden garden of evil!

Consider yourself warned!

The only thing that tops this is when I first laid my claim to Jefferrrey. Yes, being on Wheel of Fortune was amazing. Having Pat Sajak tell you that you are cool is pretty awesome too. Walking away as the winner with over $20,000 in cash and prizes (before taxes - boo) is also rad, but the best was hugging Vanna White and giving her a bag I made JUST FOR HER and then seeing her with it in the tabloids months later!!!!! By the way, she is one of the nicest ladies I have ever met. I'd learn how to spell just to impress her.

“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.”

Nesbitt, Mississippi at the home of Jerry Lee Lewis! If Rodin were alive today to create a rock 'n roll version of "The Gates of Hell" I'm sure it would look something like this.
Jeff and I actually drove through those very gates right up to his house and had an experience we will never forget.

I'd like to meet:

I hope when I get to heaven that they have "It's a Small World" because nothing would make me happier than to meet up with my sister and Dad again on that little boat. On a lighter note I'd also like to meet Lenny Kaye, Jacqueline Susann, Colonel Saunders, Betsey Johnson, Phyllis Diller (I'm serious!), Loretta Lynn, Lucinda Williams, Ginger Baker, Neil Young, Jerry Lee Lewis, Steven Meisel, all of the New York Dolls, Burt Reynolds, Mel Ramos, Edward Keinholz, Jimmy Carter, Edie Sedgwick, Tammy Wynette, David Bailey, Truman Capote, Marc Jacobs, Dovima, Stephen Sprouse, Gloomy Bear, ohhhh just too many to mention!

Music:

duhhhh - MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!!!!!!!! and after that, Patti Smith, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Buck Owens, Dwight Yoakam, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Shooter Jennings, Carter Family, New York Dolls, Adolescents, Slick Rick, Guitar Wolf, Thee MIchelle Gun Elephant, Hanoi Rocks, Circle Jerks, Dead boys, Husker Du,Rolling Stones, The Cramps, Mahalia Jackson, Emmylou Harris, Faster Pussycat, 999, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Regina Spektor, Bauhaus, The Cars, D.I., D Generation, anything but Reggae or Polka.

Movies:

New Wave Hookers (all of them), Coal Miner's Daughter, Frances, After Hours, Cannonball Run, Smokey and the Bandit, Cobra, Mommy Dearest, Mame (w/Rosiland Russel), Casino....

Television:

The Munsters, Biography Channel, Wheel of Fortune, any Behind the Music episodes, Jeopardy.......

Books:

I have to do the shout out to the family and list my #1 as my Uncle Patrick's book The Park Hyde Collection, 1965-1990, right now I'm in the middle of The Other Hollywood, The Uncensored Oral History of the Porn Film Industry, Love is a Mix Tape, The Perks of Being a Wallfower - if you haven't read it get on it. A truly beatiful piece of work. Gentelman Prefer Blondes, Shot in the Heart, Edie, Auntie Mame, I Lived to Tell it all (a cautionary tale of fame by my fave George Jones and whew is it good!), The Art and Flair of Mary Blair, Catcher in the Rye (of course, but I reeeaaally do love it), any "how-to" book put out by Sunset in the 70's, anything by Dorothy Parker or Charles Cross. If it's written I'll read it!

Heroes:

Strong creative people who are focused on their path in life. Hard work and drive go a long way in my book.
