with a lingering cough in my throat. Mother just laid a wet rag on my head. Called it a spring flu and keep me in bed. When the fever felled to brake, Mother sent for the Doctor. Hurry for heavens sake. The Doctor rode like a knight on a mission with fears of my condition. When he arrived he checked my lungs and heart. His diagnosis would tear my world apart. He took my mother to another room to inform her of the contagious nature and how the consumption could take my little sister. My mother cried as if i was already dead. They looked at me as if there where already a tombstone above my head. My mother ran to my bed, Cradled my sick body
and rubbed my head. The Doctor screamed and pulled her away, She's contagious, Didn't you listen to what I had to say? The littlest one is healthy as fair as I can tell. Don't be foolish and doom the hole family to hell. Holding my little sister in the doorway my father stood. He knew what he should do, But not knowing if he could. The Doctor pushed my
family out of the room. The sanatorium people would be coming soon. The Doctor said you can not keep her. She;s much to ill. We need not give the sickness more life's to kill. That would be the last whisper I would hear the Doctor say, Before I was torn from my mothers hands and took away. All I remember is her body on the ground and wailing like a mad animal with no one around...---
