Aubrey’s musical career began at the age of five when she began playing the violin, soon followed by piano at seven. Although Aubrey continued playing classical violin and piano well into her teens and again in college, her interest turned to the world of fiddling at a young age. She had the opportunity to study with some of the most well-known and respected players in that field, including Dick and Lisa Barrett, and multiple-time national champion, Tony Ludiker. By age twelve, she was teaching violin to her own students of various ages and levels. Playing competitively until she was fourteen, Aubrey won both state and regional titles and placed second at Nationals. While attending Chapman University in Orange, California, Aubrey was selected to be a part of both the Chamber orchestra and the Chapman University choir, conducted by Dr. William Hall. She toured and recorded with both groups, performing with the choir at the American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA) convention in Hawaii, as well as in Beijing, China. Aubrey continued to study music privately as well, taking lessons in piano, violin and voice. Also a gifted vocalist and instructor, Aubrey was selected as one of forty to tour with the Young Americans internationally, representing the group abroad. They spent the next two and a half months performing and teaching 3-day music workshops at various schools and venues throughout Germany and Luxembourg, touching the lives of thousands of children, teenagers and adults. Her first significant band experience was playing violin on the worship team at High Desert Church in Victorville, CA. In 2005 Aubrey settled in Los Angeles to play fiddle with a country duo and by then was also playing guitar and composing her own songs. Since then she has recorded and performed with many different artists including The Ramblin’ Fools, The Mary White Band, Vibrasol, Kimberly Jean, and most recently, the Rachel Stacy Band. Her range of styles is eclectic, spanning genres such as bluegrass, old-time fiddle, classical, country, rock/pop and Celtic. With these groups, Aubrey has toured all over the US and abroad, played at many respected Los Angeles Venues; performed for the US military at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; at the Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota; and opened for major country artists such as Eric Church, Joe Diffie and Alice in Chains.
