About Me

I was born on November 20, 1979, and I started to play guitar when I was eleven years-old. For six years and a half I studied classical guitar with Master Giuseppe Mazzei, and I played in various guitar recitals; meanwhile I began to play rock with my first bands ( I believe that the passion for rock music has come from my older brothers' records): so when I was a kid I tried to emulate guitarists like Angus Young, Brian May, Slash, Hetfield, Hammett, Mustaine, Friedman, and so on... I still like rock and all the guitar players I used to listen to when I was a "long-haired heavy metal kid with black T-shirt": when music is well-played, no matter what genre it is, it can be appreciated at any age (indeed, I think I can better appreciate rock today!). Anyway, in 1998 I entered the Centro Espressione Musicale in Gallarate, where I started to study jazz. I studied jazz guitar, improvisation and harmony with Luciano Zadro, I attended the jazz ensamble lessons with Zadro, Massimo Moriconi and Angelo Corvino, I studied ear-training and went deep into standards. In 2001 I arranged and recorded "Lettere dal Bagnasciuga" (Abeat Records), album from the songwriter and singer Antonio Turconi; I've also worked as a session-man in recording studios. I played in the "Se la guerra poi adesso cominciamo a farla noi" theatrical/musical project with Roberto Vielmi, Angelo Corvino e Michele Tacchi; with the same line-up I also made a tribute to Radiohead. In the jazz scene I played with pianists like Renato Sellani, Paolo Paliaga, Marco Detto and Paolo Brioschi; chromatic harmonicists Max De Aloe and Bruno de Filippi; guitarist Giampiero Spina; drummers like Nicola Stranieri, Massimiliano Varotto, Marco Zanoli, Angelo Corvino, Massimo Pintori and Ferdinando Faraò; saxophonist Tarcisio Olgiati; double-bass players such as Roberto Piccolo, Yuri Goloubev, Roberto Mattei; vibraphonist Marco Bianchi; singers Adi Souza and Antonella Montrasio... I'm a jazz fan, and I try to let everybody know how beautiful jazz music can be. At present I'm teaching guitar and music theory at Centro Espressione Musicale in Gallarate.
