About Me

Blue Whistle was founded on July 28th 2007 by me, Alex Khouri. I had been writing music for some time and I thought it would be appropriate that I post some of it on myspace so I can start sharing my work with others. I am bass player and I had been playing for a little over 3 years when I created Blue Whistle, but I had also played piano as a young child (although I didn't like it much at the time), and had passed grade 2 with merit. Initially this project only consisted of me playing bass and writing music for all other instruments, but I am open to anyone who likes my music and would wish to join my band. I use Guitar Pro and Fruity Loops to create my music and my recordings will most likely be done using those programs too. Please leave me a comment letting me know what you think of my music so I can get an idea of how good/bad people think it is. Influences: Anything and everything, although I get a lot of my ideas from listening to other musicians. My bass playing has been influenced by Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave), Chris Wolstenholme (Muse), Justin Chancellor (Tool), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), and Scott Sutherland (Motocade).
Sounds Like: I like to think that my ideas are somewhat unique, but people will probably recognise various elements of my music from other artists, as I like to take ideas that other musicians have developed and adapt them to suit my own needs. I suppose I might sound like some of the bands I listen to, seeing as they are my main influences.
