Jerry and Matteus met several years ago. They played together in a five-piece rock band. One day, everybody else missed practice. They went down to Cadillac Jack's in Lake City and, after a couple drinks, Samurai Bow was formed. They play some kind of folk music.
Singer-Songwriter J Allen Mitchell is originally from Wyoming. He studied languages in France and Taiwan for a long time. He has played at poetry readings in the Seattle area for years, building an extensive repertoire of original material.
Cellist Matteus Vaga graduated in music from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and is trained classically and in jazz. He has played locally in several bands. His influences range from Finnish folk music through American roots and alternative rock.
Samurai Bow has been playing venues throughout the Seattle area. On May 20, 2008, they finished mastering their full-length album "Skin in the Game", which includes "The Bitter Fruit", "What Can You Do?" and "Time To Go", all posted here.
"Skin in the Game" will be available on CD by July, 2008, cross your fingers.
