-------UPDATE-------
The last year has been a major trial in patience!!!!
Opening a new night club in Seattle these days, is a tough pitch with the current climate of our night life vs. urban density struggles. That's why we went to the SODO District (zoned industrial only). No condo owners to worry about and no noise issues, a neighborhood we can REALLY ROCK!!!! Still, the process has seemed endless.
We didn't want anything fancy and not a sterile box either. So we chose this amazing 100 year old building for it's untouched raw timber and blue collar history. Orignally built to house city work horses, and then used as an indoor wrecking yard. Later it was the legendary "Jukebox City" for many years. Nirvana also rehearsed for their "In Eutero" album here. We love this building and you can feel all of this history when you walk in the doors.
The permitting process and red-tape (with just about every government agency) has left us waiting and waiting. But it has given us a chance to nurture our dream, and has made us more determined then ever to bring you something monumentally against the grain of the 'NEW SEATTLE ORDER' and their vision of what the city should become.
The Fire Department has been really good to us and have allowed us up to two 1-night assembly permits a month (with no alcohol). We have used those nights to work with local rave promoter Travis Webb (Webbwerx), who in conjunction with other great promoters have thrown 14 of the biggest and best electronic dance parties in the northwest this last year. Something we will continue to do 1 or 2 nights a month when we offically open. We also helped throw a Battle of the Bands as a fundraiser for West Seattle High School which was very well received and alot of fun. Our space is also being featured (as a seedy art gallery) in an upcoming feature film "The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle".
With the red-tape finally unraveling we are slated for construction to begin swiftly. So bear with us Seattle...and prepare to GET YOUR MOTOR RUNNING!!!
