Spending time with my wife (love to travel when we can), my family and friends.
Drumming and singing.
Started learning to play guitar a few months ago (although all I am doing so far is learning my five major chords, how to go from one to another and generally just bamming around on it). I'm also bammin' around on a mandolin I'm tryin' to learn how to play too. Lotta fun!
Watching/going to IRL (Indy Racing League) races (open wheel RULES!).
Gardening.
Reading.

Cool people. Like to have fun and live. Other blues musicians, fans, etc...really any fans of great music. Yank Rachell Tribute CD is available now at www.yankrachell.com Check out the website and the video below for more info about this benefit project. Thanks.
Blues is my personal preference. But, I like any well performed music.
Have been playing drums since I was five years old (that's when I received my first real drum set; after having torn through several paper, kid kits).
I've had the pleasure of playing with some of Indy's finest players/bands, including: The Allnighters, Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors, The Night Owls, The Wolfpack, The Fabulous Silvertones, featuring Clyde Shelby, Smokey James and the Arson Squad, The Missing Blues Band. Have opened up shows for some of the best in the Blues business (Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells, Koko Taylor, John Mayall, Anson Funderburgh and the Rockets, with Sam Myers, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Lonnie Mack...and more).
CDs I've played on include: The Wolfpack - Wolves In Cheap Clothing (Lycanthropia Records, out of print); Live From The Slippery Noodle Inn Volume 2 (Slippery Noodle Sound - SNS0004) performing on two tracks with The Wolfpack; Santa Is A Bluesman Vol. 3 (Rollin' & Tumblin' Records - RT 2608) performing on one track with The Wolfpack.
I am on a compilation CD "A Tribute To The Legendary Blues Mandolin Man, James Yank Rachell, 1910-1997". The CD was released on June 8th, 2008. I play drums on three tracks ("Divin' Duck"; "Depression Blues"; "Wadie Green"). Check out www.yankrachell.com for additional details of the tribute CD (and to buy several copies for yourself and your family/firends) and to learn more about Yank (one of the coolest people I've had the absolute pleasure of meeting, and the thrill on occasion to have played with). November '07 I played & was filmed for a U-tube video with other players on the release, to promote the Yank Tribute CD. The video I play on/in was for "Wadie Green." I'm just playin' brush on my snare. Minimal, but a BLAST! The video will be released when the CD is released. I'll post the video to this page when available.
Check out the Duff Music photo archive below. It includes bands I've played with or seen, etc. I'll be adding lots more old pics as I get them scanned.
