finally got around to reading prep, i didn't like it as much as i thought i would but i still enjoyed it. it reminded me of the tyrrany of the girls with the field hockey sticks when i transferred grade schools from fairmount to merion. was odd to revisit that feeling and for me, it saved the book from mediocrity (though she doesn't talk about the priveledged ranks of the field hockey players, her focus is instead on lacrosse). favie new book that i've read recently - grotesque by natsuo kirino, twas very good. am currently reading the devil's larder since being dead was so damn good. some favies of all time include the brothers karamazov, sirens of titan, midnight's children, norwegian wood/wind-up bird chronicles/kafka on the shore, of human bondage, this side of paradise, the sun also rises, krakatoa...
