B I O G R A P H Y The black book of the SORTILEGIUM's saga have been open in the winter of 1996, by the will of Tregor "Malphas" Russo’s sinister soul. At the end of 1996, He recorded his first demo called “Divina Morte”, playing all the instruments, melting classic doom death metal influenced by Candlemass, My dying Bride and the brutal death metal scene in typical Floridian style, and published in two hundred copies for fanzine, magazines, radio stations and labels only.In the Spring 1997, another solo project takes shape; NOEREM, where power and black metal melt their selves and of which you can find two tracks into the first compilation “ Mediterranean Scena Scunsacrata Act One “.At the end of 1997, MALIGNANCY is born; this third solo project represents an extreme evolution of SORTILEGIUM; playing six tracks (one of this songs is instrumental acoustic)of brutal gore death metal, in a demo cd called “Towards the Sunset”, edited in fifty hundred sold out copies, and well reviwed positively on magazines, fanzines and both Italian and foreigner.In the meanwhile Tregor Malphas keeps on trying out and composing all music and lyrics and for the first time, he recruits other players to record a new promo cd, always under the monicker of SORTILEGIUM, called “Mcmxcix” (1999), at Riff Raff Studio in Marsala ( Sicily).This promo cd marks a turning point with songs melting symphonic, new age, gothic, progressive, groove, doom and death metal, trying to give new lymph to extreme metal scene…The first split cd from SORTILEGIUM was released on Christmas 2001 by Coffin Productions. Recorded at Riff Raff Studio in Marsala ( Sicily), it's entitled "Requiem Aeternam" and the other band featured is a death/thrash metal mid tempos outfit called INNER HELL, who Tregor Malphas himself joined as a multi-instrumentalist, after the other musicians leaved the band.The "Requiem Aeternam" Opera is a litanic concept album, divided in 5 chapters and it shows the world the new unique musical innovation of Tregor Malphas. Inspired by the concept of Angels and Tregor's obscure and mournful vision, exalting the darken majesty of SORTILEGIUM.The songs blend together classical music, avantgarde, dark wave, progressive, power, gothic, epic, symphonic doom death metal, Gregorian choirs and Soprano singing, the result enriched by Tregor's lead guitar playing all technical virtuosism, giving birth to Angelic Horror Metal Opera.The Album has been written, composed, created and played by Tregor Malphas in it’s entirety.In addition to INNER HELL, Tregor Malphas also plays guitars and bass in MENSCHENFEIND, a devastating black metal band. The debut album, “Smell like posers…” recorded in the Evil Paint Studio in February and is to be released by Coffin Productions in July 2002.He is also the virtuoso guitarist, bassist and composer of ERIAMINELL.Back in the All Studios in Florence, Tregor Malphas recorded in two days, all of his parts of leads and rhythms guitars, synths and bass guitar, and he produced with the band, their first album.The Nocturnal Music Records showed intrest and in the summer of 2003 the debut album “Enraged“ came out!The record proposing a furious and hypertechnical brutal, death metal !!! The reaction of both fans and media are positively around the World.After some live appearances at Metal Festivals and other concerts in Italy, with his soloist band Sortilegium, from the Winter 2004 to the Spring 2005, Tregor Malphas, in this period, preparing his new cooming cd.A perfect interpretation of differing styles with creation of a original, unique and emotional kind of music, with his new soloist band; GATES OF EDEN... !!!
