Introducing John Myers" EP on iTunes now!

About Me

Soul? Funk? Hip-hop? Rock? Jazz? Folk? This North London based singer and multi-instrumentalist of Irish parents isnt too bothered with the straitjacket imposed by such generic terminology.
Born in Camden Town, John Myers taught himself several instruments from an early age, with the exception of the violin, which he was introduced to at the age of 8. Hearing the music of Scott Walker, Jimi Hendrix and The Modern Jazz Quartet played around the house was bound to have an effect on his future musical direction; he even liked AC/DC long before they became the favoured choice of Mondeo drivers. Already writing many songs, his time at Salford University studying Popular Music And Recording saw him forming his own band which toured the UK, France, Italy and Norway. He was also highly commended as a runner-up in the PRS John Lennon Songwriting Awards.
Upon his return to London, he quickly realised an ambition of his to perform on Top Of The Pops as part of Shane MacGowan And The Popes. This led to touring work that involved playing many prestigious venues and festivals worldwide such as The Forum, The House Of Blues (LA), The Point (Dublin), The Fleadh (USA and UK), Montreux Jazz Festival, Roskilde (Denmark) and Pinkpop (Holland). In addition, he could also be seen on TV shows such as Late Night With Conan OBrien (NBC) and Late Late Show (RTE), as well as heard on live radio sessions for Radio 1.
He was also featured on a wide array of recordings for acts such as Kylie Minogue, Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke) and Mike Oldfield; being an in demand session multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, John continues to contribute to other recording artists releases, as well as recently remixing a Shelly Poole track and producing other acts. He has also been recently accepted as a member of Martin Guitars’ prestigious Artist Relations Programme.
With a Top 30 single co-writing credit in addition to having recently written with Universal artist Jack McManus, his debut EP has just been released on the Bluedog Records label via iTunes, with an album due in 2008. He has also recently produced a single by Hannah Warman, as well as producing/writing for girl band Red Blooded Women. John is also available for session/live work and emergency plumbing.

Just a rough acoustic recording of a recent song. Guitar playing's shite and I was only using one mic; if you like miserable acoustic bollocks, it'll be up your cul-de-sac then. Enough of the excuses....
