About Me

Scienceofuse is an electronic music collective from the Central European cultural wasteland known as Slovenia. Its ideological roots lie in the anarchist philosophy influenced by punk rock whereas its musical identity has been shaped by many diverse influences - hence the name of the collective. The SCIENCE is about USING your individual creative powers and DOING YOUR OWN THING. The story of the Scienceofuse collective started in 1999 after a few mischievous teenage punks first got in touch with electronic music after experiencing some early techno and electro parties. Eager to try and take a crack at techno production, they started experimenting with computer music on primitive sequencers & soft synths and started DJing at the same time. The collective acquired some new members on the way, but the first real DJ sets took place in anarchist squats, remote cottages and misty bars by Dulash der DJ, E. B. King and Tha Disko Don. Soon afterwards the three active Scienceofuse DJs (along with Jr. Gregg, who joined us in 2003) played together (as well as individually) in different venues hosting electronic music parties such as BOF, Gala Hala Metelkova, Channel Zero, Klub Gromki, Lunapark, Sub Sub, Klub Lipa, Gospodarsko Razstavisce, Park Tivoli, KUD France Preseren, Klub K4 (Ljubljana), Club Africa (Trebnje), Klub Simfonija (Unec), Martin Krpan (Maribor), Klub Tivoli (Portoroz), Monvi (Rovinj), Flex and Sub-Zero (Vienna), ICA (London) and many more... The collective started featuring regularely at the legendary Klub K4 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, playing at the notorious Astrodisco nights (among others) and has also hosted a few events of their own, featuring live and DJ performances by various guests such as DJ Jofus from Detroit's very own Red Planet; mr. Sascha Funke and Modeselektor from Berlin; Fabrice Lig a.k.a. Soul Designer as well as all the local DJ heroes, big and small. The first Scienceofuse live performance by Noaf and Wichiwaka at Lunapark in 2006 was a showcase of tracks created in the now-abandoned Scienceofuse Bassment underground studios, musically ranging from trippy ambiental electronica to full-on throbbing techno. Along with DJ Caj and E.B.King, they featured on "K4 Format", a limited edition electronic music compilation released by klub K4 with three unique tracks representing the varied sound of our collective's music production. This diverse output was noted also by the inclusion of Stashman and The LSD Anarchist's mellow "Ode to orangebud" on the 2008 "Chilli Space vol.4" compilation. More releases and events are planned for the near future so watch this space... SCIENCEOFUSE LOVES YOU LONG TIME!Modeselektor LIVE @ K4DDD & E.B.King are nothing but big babies :)
