About Me

A special message from RANDY NOW'S "CAPITAL GARAGE RADIO SHOW"
Wednesday, June 20, 2007
Don't forget the SPECIAL SUNDAY PSYCHEDELIC SHOW on Sunday June 24th from 6 to 9 PM FEATURING from 8 until 9 PM ....
A LOOK BACK ....TRENTON ROCK BANDS 1960's thru the 1970's special
Very rare recordings from rock bands that started in Trenton NJ.
TRENTON ROCK BAND TRIVIA ...
1964 - THE GALAXIES IV - Win First Prize in a BATTLE OF THE BANDS National Contest. Judges included "Cousin" Bruce Morrow, Phil Spector, & James Michner. Their prize was performing for two years at The NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR ! Released 4 RCA singles - all very rare records.
1967 - SAINT ANTHONY'S FYRE - Probably one of the most sought after Psychedelic / Garage LP's from the 60's. Copies sell for $500 - $700 on EBAY (when they even show up)
1968 - ALEXANDER RABBIT - one LP on Mercury records - Were invited to play at WOODSTOCK, turned down the offer. Shame On Them !
1970 - JACOB'S CREEK - Features brothers Lon & Derek van Eaton, who 2 years later are signed by George Harrison for Apple Records. George, Klaus Voorman, and Ringo Starr play and produce their LP on Apple records called BROTHER.
There are so many more Trenton rock bands and people (trivia) to share - it's going to be hard to squeeze all this history into a one hour special radio show. This is just the tip of the iceberg !
Please, once again, alert your TRENTON BUDDIES on this radio special - Sunday June 24th from 8 until 9 PM. WTSR 91.3 FM and also WWW.WTSR.ORG
Look for stories in The Trentonian on Thursday June 21st and (hopefully) The Trenton Times later that weekend.
