I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

SECOND SHOW ADDED! FIRST SHOW TOTALLY SOLD OUT! RATS RULE!..~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Well, I was trying to spiff up my page a little, and accidentally wiped out everything I'd had in the about me blurb. If you saw it and remember it, let me know! Cuz I sure don't remember much of it...Let's see - I know one of the things was there's really more info about me in the 'my pics' section than you'll see here... I use ellipses too much... And I also shared my opinion that Tom should include a 'voyeuristic intention' category as a reason for joining myspace, because I really think that applies to a lot more people far more than 'networking, friends,' etc etc...Um... what else? I don't do any of those surveys anymore because my weight, hair color, favorite beverages, experiences, seasons, favorite movie, etc., change on a regular basis. The constants in my world: Purple is and has always been my favorite color, and my eyes have always been blue. And I love pizza... real pizza, the kind you can only get around here, not the stuff that comes out of freezer cases and huts.... Love dinosaurs, reptiles & amphibians, and other ancient things.... Oh yeah ... and The Good Rats!!! They've been part of the soundtrack to my life since I was 18 ........................Good Rats Video World Party Anthem GOOD RATS - LETS HAVE ANOTHER BEER!!!!Good Rats - "GINO" Live at Kosco Harley Davidson September 30 2007 filmed by Andy aka "YesMan" - he has a LOT of live Good Rats footage at: http://www.youtube.com/YesMan46"

My Interests

The Good Rats SONGWRITER at Peppi's 63rd Birthday Party Orphan Annie's, Stirling NJ Dec 29 2007 above - photo from the amazing archives of Skitch - thank you!Below: from Late Show (Thank you!) ORIGINAL GOOD RATS REUNION!Bonzo Dog Band: Equestrian Statue

I'd like to meet:

Tim Burton! And an electrician willing to barter....

Music:

GOOD RATS - Joey Ferrari!!!! This song is from the Good Rats' very first album, and it still kicks ass! Above: JOEY FERRARI - Good Rats!!!!Below: BERENDS-WILSON TRIO PLAY CREAM - White Roomand speaking of 'jersey girl' (I was, in the picture section...), as much as I like Springsteen, I hope you know he did NOT write the song with that name. Credit Tom Waits, and if you're not familiar with this artist/poet/composer/musician, he's worth checking out. (and speaking of giving credit where credit is due, it has irritated me for a few decades that Marvin Hamlisch is credited with, and received awards for, "The Entertainer, " which was written by the legendary Scott Joplin....) ok, back to my music (so to speak) Random, no particular order, subject to change and addition, except for the first 3 which are always at the top of the list: David Bowie, Jerry Garcia, Peppi Marchello (The Good Rats),The Dead, Jacques Brel, Tom Waits, The Good Rats, of course, Brian Wilson, Tim on the Harp Unstrung, Dave Brown - please come play on my front porch again! John Lennon, Velvet Underground, Enya, Lowell George, Mozart, Steeleye Span, did I mention Peppi Marchello? Janis Joplin, Clapton, Elton John, The Kinks, Gershwin, Mark Knopfler, Alison Brown, Andrew Megill (Fuma Sacra), Beethoven (don't know a lot, but the 7th and 9th symphonies give me chills), Warren Zevon, David Grisman,Elvis Costello, Jim Litton's ABC, William Billings, Bonzo Dog Band, T-Rex, Brian Eno, Lou Reed, Danny Elfman, Baltimore Consort, The Who, Bob Marley, Bizet, Tori Amos, Indigo Girls, Arlo, Lotte Lenya singing Kurt Weill, Taverner Consort, Village Harmony, Leonard Cohen, all early and a lot of later Bruce Springsteen (hey, I AM a JG, after all), Hendrix, Leo Kottke, Freddie Mercury, Ry Cooder, SPARKS, Jimmy Buffet, Jonathan Richman, Dan Reeder, hell, this is getting way too long, isn't it? and its way too much for me to try to complete in one late-night session. I will get back to this. Um...... I have a huge collection of Christmas cds, mostly choral, and many other choral collections as well, and I like a lot of on- and off-Broadway soundtracks. Right now very into Jones and Schmidt (The Fantasticks, Celebration!). And I have a peculiar thing about medieval and early renaissance music which makes me very close to believing in reincarnation. LOTSA that kind of stuff in my collection.Songs that ALWAYS make me cry: Me and Bobby McGee, Advertisement In The Voice, (written by Peppi Marchello - did I mention him yet?) Puff The Magic Dragon, You're Still The One (Shania's, cringe, cringe, cringe) Real Slow Drag. OH! And have you ever REALLY listened to The Coventry Carol??? Do you KNOW what this song is about?!!! OMG. ok, ok, I know, I'm schmaltzy as hell.... (and I use ellipses and parentheses too much...................)
