"Turtle Soup is goood... Turtle Soup is delicious!" - John Popper of Blues Traveler
"Today, I'm going to talk about the original band Turtle Soup... this is an upcoming independent band that every hippie, classic rock lover, and college kid should go see. Why? Turtle Soup blends rock, funk and dance music into a highly energetic and completely infectious stew that will have you coming back for seconds.
At the core, they're 5 totally different characters who join together to form a seamless whole, ready to throw down atany given moment. (You know, kinda like Voltron, but a little less metal.) Where these cats differ from the rest of the groovy bands out there is that instead of using a blender to combine ingredients, they prefer to use a tornado. They want towhip you around, making you dance and gyrate as if gravity didn't exist at their party.
The ride is different every show, and that's part of the allure. Like an interstellar wormhole, you don't know what you're gonna get, or where they're going to take you tonight... but be ready because they're bringing the HEAT. Fun, catchy hooks will have you singing along through your sweat, while the sweet grooves keep you banging your head and shaking your ass.
A memorable show pays off, and they've been on a tear lately. After starting up on the New Jersey shore, they quicklygained critical acclaim in Asbury Park, the town where Bruce Springsteen first got his start. They hopped on the musicfestival circuit, and began branching out into the regional Northeast area. Now more people than ever are rocking out tothese multiple Asbury Music Award winners, and the list just keeps growing.
Their resume includes Blues Traveler, Paul Rodgers, Marshall Tucker Band, Foghat, Little Feat, Max Creek, StrangeFolk...and many others, but that's just name dropping. Turtle Soup impresses both old and young alike with a sound thatis universally accessible, yet interesting enough to get you thinking. But, it might take a couple shows just to get pastthe Holy Shit Factor." ~Bob Sherman, The Indy Sound

The instrumental set also offered a brief appearance by Juggling Suns drummer Andrew Lenaghan as well as teenage keyboardist Mark Masefield (Outside the Box)... " read the full article

Band Members: Jeff "Mudd" Mahajan - Vocals/Guitar/Synth:
Armed with his trusty awe-inspiring "Axecalibur" guitar and a frightening arsenal of special effects, the Mudd helps Turtle Soup navigate to new sonic shores. Ben Feld - Keys/Vocals:
Ben's dynamic keyboard playing and singing take Turtle Soup to new levels. His pop and theatre background shines through nicely in his lyrics and melodies. Michael McDermott - Bass:
Mike's sense of rhythm, tone and chops (not to mention 5 and 6 string basses) will make your bones quiver with the lowness. Al Romao - Percussion:
Perhaps the most spiritual member of the band, Al's creative use of various percussion instruments and rhythms really add nice flavor to Turtle Soup. Andy Meyer - Drums/Vocals/Bike Horn:
A founding father of Turtle Soup, Andy is not your typical drummer. He plays with sensitivity and dynamics, and also adds cool songs, lyrics and arrangements.Extended Turtle Soup Family Members:

Nick "turtle" Paolise - bass/vocals:
a founding father of Turtle Soup and member from 2003-'06, Nick is a world-class video promoter for Rive Video. He'll get your junk played!Danny Coury - guitar:
member of Turtle Soup from 2003-'06, and inventor of the "Coury Flurries", Danny's insano guitar tweaking shocked anyone who was familiar with his cool off-stage demeanor.Jeremy Korpas - stealth bomber guitar:
When Jeremy swoops in on his trusty guitar, the wank 5000, Turtle Soup abolishes all sound speed barriers. NOT for the faint of heart!Randy Preston - guitar whiz kid:
Randy's been touted as a rock prodigy since he was shredding by the ripe old age of 11. And, yeah, he DID just rip that solo behind his head.Mark Masefield - keytar:
Rumored to be the bastard child of Page McConnell, this young gun can bring the heat on organ, piano, and the crowd favorite... the keytar.Andrew Lenaghan - Drums, Percussion
JPat Dalton - Harmonica Metamorphosis - Vocals Eric Safka - Hammond B-3, Keyboards Sheri Kaplan - VocalsGus Vigo - Keyboards Paul "Hoagie" Apicella - Bass, Banjo Mark Nettlingham - Percussion Kurt Thum - Keys
Skullboy - Graphic Artist:
You have seen Skullboy's radical artwork on Turtle Soup stickers, t-shirts and album covers, but you outta see the rest of his stuff. Amazing!Dogmatic - Performance Artist:
When he's not channeling the earth's powerful energy into one of his live onstage paintings, you can quietly hear the wind blow, "Dogmatic. Trance Mission."Christy Meyer - Financials:
Christy helps remind us of how much money we don't have! She'll also do your taxes!BrookSound Productions - Studio/Recording:
Producer of Turtle Soup's world-class studio recordings.Greenstream Music - Record Label:
