...not too much: we still have a long way to go...

About Me

Well. I'm a nerd in a 'Saved by the Bell' kind of way, though my pants have dropped a bit and my glasses replaced with contacts, because, really, who needs all that support from pants and a lack of peripheral vision? I'm older than I look but younger than I feel (but not in a moody, black nail polish and shiny pants seventeen-year-old-angst kinda way. I hope.). People in general make me nervous, though people in specific can be wonderful. I believe that people should give compliments every day on possibly everything that they find beautiful regardless of embarrassment because, really, who wouldn't be happier getting more compliments? I'm attracted to people who are more attractive when smiling because it's sad otherwise. I've always been a romantic though, of late a hopeless one has emerged in a 'you'll-find-true-love-but-then-she'll-tear-your-heart-out-i n-the-most-painful-way-possible' kinda way. I wonder why muliebrity sounds nothing like its meaning. I'm trying to get out more. And, um, p.s. if we've never communicated before, I probably won't add you as a friend. 'cause, you know, friends talk. Or type. Or smear various berries into intelligible pictograms.

My Interests

Movies. Love them, unabashedly. Also comic books, big thick books and songs with nice words. Cooking with someone you love. Love, in general. Falling asleep to a good movie. Singing. Computers and various other technological nerdisms. People-watching, dancers, and the martial arts. The drive-in. Brownies with coffee ice cream. Helping people. Crosswords and Scrabble, Cranium and fighting the ineluctable modality of the visible. Acting. Kissing. Fantasy. Practical quixotism.

I'd like to meet:

Well I suppose that depends: I'd love to meet many people but I doubt they'd be on myspace on account of death and, for some, a general lack of electricity. But were said people alive and apprised of the current electrical situation, Dean, Joyce, King, Biko, Tzu, Einstien and X would all be on my friends list. Heck, if I can raise the dead, I should be able to do some other stuff like get Batman and Wonder Woman (I love Wonder Woman, I can't help it) to hang out with me. But you meant real, alive people. I'd like to meet nice people. I think thats my only criteria. But smiling is encouraged.

Music:

The good stuff.

Movies:

The Princess Bride. My favorite movie. After that...The Last Unicorn, East of Eden, LOTR, anything by Pixar (but The Incredibles is perfect), When Harry Met Sally, Waiting for Guffman, SW OT, Almost Famous, Free Enterprise, The Producers, The Neverending Story, The Karate Kid, Labyrinth, Spinal Tap, The Shawshank Redemption, good lord- The Apartment, Rear Window, Shakespeare in Love, Predator, Two Girls and a Guy, South Park BLU, van Wilder, any Python but Holy Grail the most, A Fish Called Wanda, Good Will Hunting, Best of the Best, Ninja Scroll, Beauty and the Beast, Zoolander, Roxanne, My Blue Heaven, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory...so many...

Television:

Veronica Mars, Entourage, Lost, Studio 60 (!), Alias, Arrested Development (where's the love?), Scrubs, South Park, 24, Family Guy, The Daily Show (brilliant), Justice League Unlimited, Batman TAS (back in the day), The 4400, Ellen (best talk show around), Battlestar Galactica, old school Office, ne school Office, the Simpsons.

Books:

Pick up something by Joyce to learn to read life, Marqeuz to find real magic, and Tolkien because you probably think fantasy is beneath you.

Heroes:

Superman.
