anadian born singer, pianist and songwriter CARLA LOTHER was signed to Chesky Records in 2000. Her first two solo releases, Ephemera and 100 Lovers received extremely favorable reviews. In its critique of 100 Lovers, the September 2004 issue of The Jazz Times wrote: “100 Lovers ably demonstrates that Lother is every bit as deserving of the global accolades (and platinum sales) that are currently being heaped on Norah Jones.â€
n her Brooklyn neighborhood, Carla met Richie Stotts, the lead guitarist who, along with the late Wendy O. Williams, fronted the seminal punk-metal band The Plasmatics. Carla and Richie’s story was featured in the August 2004 issue of Billboard Magazine. An un-likely match, they began collaborating on songwriting – four of which appear on her most recent Chesky release.
