About Me

Now dammit, look here, all of you, we must admit that everything is fine and there's no need in the world to worry, and in fact we should realize what it would mean to us to UNDERSTAND that we're not REALLY worried about ANYTHING. Am I right?
-Neal Cassady as recounted by Jack Kerouac
I'm an open book. An insane, passionate, and semi-impulsive open book. If you don't believe me, well, Here's the book.
Damn it, I need to write more.
I want to live a beautiful life. So far, I'm succeeding, well, more or less. We all have our off days and that's just part of the magic.
Did I mention I'm a little insane? Glad you don't mind.
oh hey there, while you're reading, I'm also in a New England folkpunk band named the Swaggerin' Growlers. Heavy on the Irish, heavy on the Swagger, light on the inhibitions.
Go to our goddamn myspace page, you whore.
I drink -way- too many caffeinated products. Alcoholic ones too. Oh well.
I'm a pretty big fan of webcomics, since they're a delightful way to start the day, and take my mind off the fact I have to actually work. Notably Jeph Jaques comics Questionable Content and Indie Tits . Also A longtime reader of Randy Milholland's Something Positive and R Stevens Diesel Sweeties.
We're both the media we consume, and the media we create.
And for the love of fuck, start taking a few chances. Nothing comes from playing it safe other than alot of boredom.
message me with a story, a book, a cd, an event, anything, that relly touched you in a life altering way.
[00:57] Jonny Swagger: all I want to do is meet good people, see the world, drink, play music, and have the pleasure of some awesome ladies to keep me company. is that too much to ask for? I'm not going to change the world. but if I can make a few people think and forget about their worries, I've done something
[00:58] Erika Spaulding: you should post that on your profile, lol.
[00:58] Erika Spaulding: it sums you up nicely.
[00:58] Erika Spaulding: :)

My Interests

Reading, Writing(prose, poetry, etc), Music(creation and performance), Bicycling, Painting, Drawing, Working Out, Brewing/Beer, Whiskey in all forms, Dancing (ska and swing baby!) Physical Combat(I love to spar) In-line Skating, Traveling in a van across country (the estcasy of the open road), Traveling to other countries, going to sleep at night and not knowing what the next day will bring, Meeting New People, Lock Picking, Hiking, Pubs, Computers(to a point, school as burned me out on it) , History, Celtic Culture, Hockey, Football(Soccer), Baseball, Buddhism, Tradition, Movies, Cars, Randomly driving to the beach at night because it's beautiful, Cooking, Spirituality, being truly left wing, and proud as opposed to this faux left spinless democrat bullshit that this country has to offer, The feeling a trustworthy pair of boots feel when they're laced up, Switchblades, hooded sweatshirts, dancing in the summer rain, Late night conversations, diners, the smell of gasoline, living somewhere and actually knowing the people you live around, trying new things, sending people hand written letters, not giving a fuck about what will happen tomorrow cause I'm more concerned about getting the most out of today, and of course, sex, preferably with someone you actually give a fuck about, for at least the moment.

I'd like to meet:

honestly?
I just want to meet people who are extrordinary. Those who look beyond their every day life and strive for something better than what they have, and have the determination to not give up until they get there. There are so many people, especially in my age range, that have settled into the position that life gave them. Or worse, they give up outright. Those people don't interest me. The people that interest me are the fucked up ones. The ones who are only happy when they chase after ideas that seem larger than themselves, simply because it's beautiful, and it makes them happy, not for greed, or any other rediculous justifications people have. And they really only feel at home with other people of a similar mindset - Those that don't back down, don't give up, and understand what the true definition of family means. (hint: blood is not a requirement)
Really, outside of myspace's obvious role as an amazing contact manager, it's why I'm on sites like this, maybe for the off chance of meeting someone who's into burning all night long just for a cup of coffee and a conversation, and maybe to see the sunrise. Or get drunk on the beach at midnight. Someone who has something to say and a willingness to say it. Someone who understands why being able to stuff your life into the backseat of a car and just GO is so important... and actually does it from time to time, too.
People who drink half a pot of coffee, and walk around town in the rain just because they like the exploring and the company are pretty damn awesome.
And fuck, sometimes it's just important to go out with the boys, have a couple of pints, and tear it up. Life is what you make of it, and its been a damn good time for me. Leave that crybaby shit of 'waaaah life blows' at home... cause I really don't give a fuck.
Oh, and if I'm too much for you, too intense? Fuck right the hell off. You're probably not worth my time anyways.
Above all else... maybe it's you I want to meet? You don't know unless you take the chance.
Hope you all have a lovely day.
CONTINUED:
I'd be all about meeting Billy Bragg, Shane MacGowan, Mike Ness. Basically any one who puts out creative content thats influenced my life. Really, I've met a lot of the people I've wanted to meet, cause if I like something that someone does, I say hi. It's just who I am, really. Not to mention alot of the people I'd like to have met passed long before I was born, such as Jack Kerouac, Neal Cassidy, Woody Guthrie, Henry Leadbetter, etc.
I want to meet the angelheaded hipster who's yet to make a name for his or her self but who will. I want to meet the person doing what they want to do, following their own heart, chasing after their dreams, inspiring others, and laughing maniacally the whole way.
Oh! Ronnie Drew. I definitely want to meet Ronnie Drew. Any man described as the 'Neatest Guy in Ireland' has to be fucking cool, right? At least, I'd like to think so.
