About Me

I hate writing about myself, but I do love making art, so check out my work at www.andrealibertini.com .

My Interests

drawing in pubs, making masks out of leather, singing, playing way too many instruments, playing irish sessions, movies, books, history, girly crafts (knitting, tatting, embroidery, crochet), trying new things, learning strange factoids and trivia and tormenting others with them...

I'd like to meet:

Musicians, artists, crafty people...also anyone who can tell me weird historical trivia i don't already know.

Music:

any and all irish trad and irish punk music, the tossers, siobhan, The Swaggerin' Growlers (because i like to hear myself play), the pogues, kila, tommy makem and the clancy brothers, deanta, altan, whiskeyhounds, the poem adept, ewan mccoll, doc watson, classical music (particularly any type of baroque, vaughan-williams, and samuel barber), musicals, opera, and really whatever i have the opportunity to hear.

Movies:

titus, twin falls idaho, amelie, a mighty wind, spirited away, harry potter 3, kinsey, twelfth night, twelve angry men, 84 charing cross road, everything by either jan svankmeier or the brothers quay, watership down, wit, saved, a mighty wind, the neverending story, any film containing john hurt, stephen fry, michael gambon, or ben kingsley, the color of pomegranates, cold comfort farm, lord of the rings

Television:

mystery science theater 3000, jim henson's the storyteller, the simpsons, futurama, invader zim, CSI, Law and Order, Secrets of the Dead, House

Books:

anything by neil gaiman, borges, or calvino, Death, Heaven and the Victorians, the last unicorn, street of crocodiles, the gormenghast trilogy, rats and gargoyles, harms way, Devils, Drugs, and Doctors (and any other medical history), wisconsin death trip, chronicles of narnia, tolkien, short stories: especially those by gary braunbeck, gene wolfe, and kelly link, the white goddess, watership down, a great deal of poetry, The Criminal Prosecution and Capital Punishment of Animals (ok, i haven't really read that one, but it sounds cool, doesn't it?) wit, marat/sade...and on and on and on

Heroes:

gary braunbeck, the nicest horror writer ever, who sent me a bunch of books once, david wilson (founder of the museum of jurassic technology), the brothers quay, mr. william henry welch for helping to save us all from the 1918 influenza pandemic (well, not us exactly, but you know what i mean), and...lots of other fun people who i'll think of later
