Rather than do the normal thing where I tell you about myself, I will let my friends tell you. Large vocabularies, over exaggeration, and outright lies manage to serve the purpose of doing exactly what everyone tries to do on these things: Sounding more interesting then one actually is in real life. Mission accomplished.

Jaimie
Starring: Jaimie, a guitar, bacon
Rated: PG13 for minor language, extreme glitter
Jaimie stays with you in the same way that Citizen Kane or Shaun of the Dead does. At first you head back to your car feeling happy for having spent a pleasant two hours with her. Only during the drive do you begin to fully realize the enormity of what you have actually witnessed. This isn't a momentary diversion, no- this is a life-changing event, the kind of thing people build religions out of. Had the people of Lascaux been born in Colorado instead of France, they might have painted images of Jaimie upon their cave walls. Using glitter, of course.
Sure, the buzz and the hype give one doubts. Can this really be all that good? Can one person really love bacon all that much? And what's the deal with the zombies? Sure, everyone from your best friend to your Aunt Mildred has seen Jaimie and declares they've never seen anything finer, but doesn't Mildred also like those socks with the kittens on them?
But from the moment you sit down, the whole thing draws you in. There's the compelling story, the music, the snappy dialogue, the infectious joy and energy that gushes out as if from a broken hydrant. And before you know it, you've become one of them- that legion of shambling, moaning acolytes known as Jaimienation, spreading the fame to all of your family and friends. "She's great," you say. "Oscar and Grammy winning... maybe an Emmy, or something, too. "

Jaimiemania may never match the lofty heights of Beatlemania, or even Titanicmania, but there's hardly a better way to spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon.

Rating: ****
This "review" brought to you by: Jonathan Jaimie goes by many names: JLC, Lady J, The Great Destroyer. She has leveled most of Denver's urban district with her talents, painting more than one anorexic cat-walking prowler in outlandish--though fashionably edgy--cosmetics. She has excellent taste in literature and those unfortunate enough to commit the faux pas of disagreeing have met their demise through scores of nasty paper cuts. Yet no tempest is without its tranquility; she is quick to flash a smile or crack wise. But don't let that fool you, she can easily crush you, whether it be on the killing fields of WoW or in what is comparitively your tiny, finite collection of grey matter. She likes bacon, the Muppets and David Sedaris and can show you the finer points of all three's consumption.

In a thousand years they will sing odes to her glitter obsession, proclaiming her the goddess of all things shiny. And some say her lip ring renders her impervious to even the harshest of critics. She once was the 12,000th visitor to a friend's page, earning her a sacrificed goat in congratulations. She is a force to be reckoned with. But most of all, Jaimie is a woman. And that's pretty rad.
This, "review" brought to you by: Senator Kyle : JLS, Superhero?
For years we have marveled at JLS and her abilities so we sat down with the experts and got some answers. Dr. G (name has been changed to protect his identity) was nice enough to grant us this interview.
Us: Is it true JLS can fly? Dr. G: Yes, however her ability to fly has always been a mystery but not nearly as deep of a query as the ability to do so in a very "Peter Pan" way. Flight is only achieved after sprinkling glitter rather than fairy dust on herself.Us: Interesting. Does she have any other super powers?
Dr. G: yes, she has an interesting morphing ability. Us: You mean she can change shape?
Dr. G: No, she cannot change herself, but she can mask others face’s with colorful pigment. Us: Like a chameleon?
Dr. G: Yes, like a chameleon.Us: So does she have a weakness?
Dr. G: Yes. Us: Care to share it with us?
Dr. G: Bacon. Us: Bacon?
Dr. G: Yeah, bacon. Us: Seriously?
Dr. G: Yeah. Us: No shit, bacon.
Dr. G: No shit. Us: So like, does it have to be on like a BLT or a burger or something?
Dr. G: No, just hang it on a string and wave it in her face and she’ll do your bidding. Us: Good to know.
Us: Is there anything else we need to know about JLS? Dr. G: Well one thing everyone should know is that she is about to make a HUGE world altering mistake.
Us: Oh? Dr. G: Yes. She is about to join forces with the Marines.
Us: NO! Dr. G: That’s what I said.
Us: But her brain will shrivel and she will forever have to live with her head inside of a jar. Dr. G: True.
Us: Can we stop her? Dr. G: Yes.
Us: How? Dr. G: Send ten tons of cooked bacon to the USAF.

Heroes:

Anyone in the Armed forces. Any time you see one you should thank them. They are the reason that you get to stay in your comfortable house and whine about the government while you have pizza delivered.
The next time you complain about your job, or you cop and attitude because the line in Taco Bell is going to slow, or your feel your life has been ruined by some random, childish drama on myspace/facebook remember that somewhere there is a 20-year-old, dressed in in Kevlar, enduring 100+ degree weather, eating an MRE, walking to his next 72 hour post, missing his wife and family.
That should put some shit in perspective. If it doesn't, you are just selfish and can't be reasoned with.
My Friends and Loved Ones Currently Serving:

By extension I deeply respect Eli. He went into the Marines when he was only 17. Made Sgt before he hit 21. He did his time in Iraq, deployed numerous other places and still managed to be an excellent husband. He was one of the best the Corps ever had and was a good man. I will never, ever forget that.
