I was born in sunny Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I grew up with the Beatles and the British invasion. I use to pretend I was a singer and writer of songs as I strolled down the sidewalk as a preteen. I bet the neighbors loved me. If any of you recognize me, please accept my apology. At seventeen I found myself in the Haight -Ashbury district of San Francisco, one of the true hippies of the sixties. I would spend time at Billy Graham's Filmore West where I was influenced by all the great groups of the time. Yes, I was a rocker. I eventually made my way back to south Florida where love-ins and light shows were starting to pop-up. You never knew who you may find at one! Just one big musical party. I stayed a rocker until I made my way to Alabama where I started leaning towards country and southern rock.In the 80's I moved to Nashville where I meet Steve Bulldog Bevins and Royal Wade Kimes on writer's night at Dusties Stable, both of whom influenced my musical direction. I don't know what happened to Steve, but Wade has his own website and has a great career going as he has many albums and he did a duet with Garth.I moved back to south Alabama and hung at the world famous Florabama where I spent late nights sitting around in a tiny mobile home throwing around songs with the late Rusty Mcque, one of Florabamas top writers and singers and every now and then Jim Hurt would stop by on the way back to his trailer for a drink and a song.I now live in south Mississippi where I survived Katrina, but lost my house on the beach and had extensive damage to my main home which is not too far off the bearch. We lived in paradise before the storm and now we are rebuilding paradise.I want to thank all the wonderful people who came from everywhere to help us after the storm. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.I have told you of the people who influenced me so, now let me mention the people I hope I have Influenced. My oldest son, Johnny Rivers, is a great singer musician and songwriter. He has a band called Drunk on Sunday. My son, Sean Rivers, is also a great singer songwriter. My youngest son, Trent Webb, is on his way to being one of the great drummers of the day. Last, but not least, my son Allen Dailey does not sing, write or play an instument, but instead he protects the people of Montgomery, Alabama as a member of the Montgomery Police Department. I am proud of them all. Thanks for your time and peace to all.-
