SKINT: The art of being broke

About Me

Skint Magazine is still a dream.
Skint is British slang for poor and the magazine is the first ever that is completely dedicated to broke artists, musicians, writers, entrepreneurs, etc out there. Our plan is to help readers save money while creating art as well as inspire readers to continue pursuing their passion despite the hardships of not having enough funds.
The magazine will feature articles and interviews with intriguing artists, bands, musicians, writers throughout Chicago as well as profile bigger names of artists/musicians who once started out completely broke and now make a living off their art. We plan to be a forum for artists who previously did not have a way to showcase their art.We also will give readers the inside scoop on cheap recording studios, where to get your art supplies cheap, which local shows and indie CDs are worth your money, where to get drunk cheap, how to get by with the little money you have, etc. etc.
Now the big trick is getting enough money to start a magazine for broke people....
