Love is real, not fade away

About Me

I was raised an Italian Catholic Southern Baptist. Grew up in the Northeast and headed South for college and stayed. Mom is from Kentucky where I spent many summers of my childhood. Dad is first generation from Italy born in South Philly. Both are Geminis. For those of you whom know what that implies, thank you for your sympathy. Really though, I have two of the greatest parents on the planet who always supported me in whatever I wanted to do. They loved me enough and told me I could do anything I set my mind to. It made a difference as my journey has been full of great experiences and fantastic people. It has truly been a magical trip. My only regret is not learning an instrument yet (yearning to play bass and mandolin) but I can shake the hell out of an egg and bang on a hand drum. Dancing is my true passion and will take any opportunity to do so. People and nature are my inspirations and both are plentiful in my life. I am one of those crazy people who believes that peace is possible and if we just let some more of the women in power we could fix a lot of shit. Contact Tables

My Interests

People, traveling, hiking, biking, rollerblading, cooking and eating good food, sleeping, yoga, red wine and dark chocolate, hooping, dancing, laughing.

I'd like to meet:

My grandfather, who passed away before I was a year old. My family in Italy whom I have never met.

Music:

Anything from reggae to rock, classical to jazz, punk rock to hip hop, blues to bluegrass, old country to old school. Grew up in the 80's so yes, I am a Madonna fan but the fact that I think Zeppelin rocks makes up for it.

Movies:

Crash, Shawshank Redemption, Rize, The Horseman on the Roof, Corpse Bride, any of the new Asian flicks.

Television:

Don't watch much tv. Simpsons and South Park are brilliant and must have done drugs. I hear the Muppets may have a new show-looking forward to that.

Books:

Tom Robbins is my favorite author-he crawls into my brain. My favorite book is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.

Heroes:

Tina Turner and any woman who has beat the odds and made a difference. My friends and family are my true heroes.

Repost of a blog from Staci

The family that thrives is the one that can absorb conflict and failure and still exhibit love and acceptance at the end of the day. The family that fears its conflict and buries its unseemliness unde...

Nature and Nurture

I have witnessed for the past month the miracle of life. Small, wren like birds (or perhaps they are finches, I have yet to refer to my bird books) have built a nest in a candle holder hanging from my...
