I call myself Irish Kathleen because my dad was born in Mount Charles, County Donegal Ireland. He was the youngest of thirteen siblings. His family lived on a farm up on a mountain. The locals call it the rock. We visited Ireland in 2003 and met relatives of my dad. We met one of his cousins who was 95. It was wonderful talking with her. She was very sharp and told me so much about my dad's family. Her daughter will be coming here in October 2007 and my husband and I are going back to Ireland in June of 2008.THIS IS A FAMILY PICTURE. MY DAD IS THE BABY IN HIS FATHER'S ARMS. TWO OF THE CHILDREN DIED AS INFANTS AND THE OLDEST HAD ALREADY LEFT FOR AMERICA. ALL OF THE KIDS CAME OVER A FEW AT A TIME. MY DAD CAME OVER WHEN HE WAS SIX WITH TWO OF HIS OLDER SISTERS. HIS GRANDMOTHER IS SEATED IN THE CHAIR.I graduated from Springfield High School(Delaware County)Pennsylvania in 1966. I attended Mansfield University and West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
I retired as a manager of Training and Developement from Bell Atlantic(Now Verizon) in 1999 after 30 years service. I was the manager for the training centers in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. I started out as a long distance operator in 1969 and did several associate, supervisory and manager jobs before I retired. In the 1980s I was one of three women working for Bell Atlantic that held the position of Manager of Installation & Maintenance and Outside Construction. I had over 100 men reporting to me at that time.
My husband and I are big Philadelphia Eagles Fans. But it is impossible to get tickets to the games. We do Have Sunday Season tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies. THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES "NL EAST DIVISION CHAMPS"!!!!!We have a son who is a Gunnery Sergeant with the Marines. He and his wife Andrea, have four great kids. Three boys, Andrew, Matt and Bobby and a girl, Hannah. My husband and I love being grandparents. I live at the South Jersey Shore near the beach. I am a pescatarian. I eat fish but no meat.
I am an avid animal lover. I believe we should all DO NO HARM to other humans, animals and the enviorment. I consider myself a citizen of Earth.
