Thankyou to Mr Paul Strobe for helping me with the set-up.As mentioned in my updates above Donfm is transmitting...... but only on weekends at present so i have been informed. Uncle Festa has moved onto FREEZE FM 92.7 or 99.5fm on Friday Mornings 10am till 12pm CATCH YA THERE, I would also like to take this opportunity to say TOPPS to all who were involved in trying to unite THE PIRATES OF LONDON (Flex & Don),aswell as trying to keep the Don on. All good things must cum to an end, and it's time to move the laughs onto another level. Thanks DON & FLEXfm for the fun & experience and of course the laughs (and there were loads), once again thanks for "THE RIDE................!".Back at the begining after DONfm, i also ad the pleasure of Dj' on FLEX 103.6(ORIGINAL)fm, DANCE UK, VYBE FM(Retired), S.O.U.L.fm, Mintvybe, and most recently FREEZE 92.7fm also 99.5fm and ICE COLD 103.0fm (COVER SHOWS). Don was my first experience of Dj' on pirate radio back in the late 80's early 90's, this was when i was a youthful Dj,(i was in my early Twenties)and played at various clubs for various promotors up and down the country, under various guises like Marky Mark, and then i put a few pounds on -, got me edd shaved, and hey presto UNCLE FESTA, bald headed, 2 black eyes & cute and cuddly - JUST LIKE A PANDA BEAR-. Well i fink thats enough at the mo for ya all, stay in touch. I wanna give a massive SHOUT OUT to my son Ryan Lewis HALL (Love ya fella) big i love my misses (Jen), and a big ello to my other little fella Dan (JENS BOY). I bought my first set of Decks in my Teens(SOUNDLAB DECKS and MRT60 MIXER). Pukka mixer - Decks Hard work, and then on too the big boyz decks Technics 1210's and loads of different Mixers finally staying with the pioneer DJM600 and Numark CDX cd'js, and Pioneer cd'js.I got involved in the House and Clubbing music scene in my late teens to early twenties, this was because the football violence was coming to an end due to undercover operations from the OLD BILL and surveillance teams. Football Firms like: CHELSEA HEADHUNTERS (Jus wen you thought it was safe), WEST HAMS (ICF Inter City Firm), ARSENALS (The Gooners), MILLWALL (Bushwackkers), LEICESTER CITYS (Baby Squad), TOTTENHAMS (Yiddos N17), MANCHESTER UTD's (Red Army), LEEDS UTDS (Service Crew) but to name a few. There were plenty more but too many to quote. So the odd ruck that you would ave before the game, maybe during the game, and depending on the result, after the game was becoming arder & arder to ave. So i ad to find somefink to get my teeth into (EXCUSE THE PUN). Then came along Ecstasy and repetative beats music which later on, i found out to be House Music. I got into the club scene on a regular basis and left the Football violence behind me ( well not all the time, up untill the Premiership was formed). Gutted, only becoz i thought i would ave nuffink to do on a saturday afternoon. Little did i know that after a nights clubbing on Friday evenings and droppig a few JACK 'N' JILLS (like you did in the good ole days) sound like my parents RIP (good ole dayz - A). I was too F--K-D and CHILLED to fight anybody, all i wanted to do was GIVE sum luvvvvvvvvvvv. Instead of giving a back ander, or cum to fink about it receive a right ander. By Taking DRUGS you are putting yourself and your life at risk, yes i've been there and yes i enjoyed it but i am still alive to tell the stories. I no longer take any form of Drugs and enjoy life through my Woman my children and my Music and cant leave my football out CUM ON YOU BLUES. Be Careful everybody and Enjoy your life wot ever the circumstances, KEEP SMILING.OK!, We're talking about house music and how i believe it started. It all happened around the early 80's wen clubs were buzzing to various music styles like Rare Groove,Electro,Rap and 80's Grooves and of course not forgetting interesting Imports from Chicago(USA), this was a good "era" to hit the record shops,tunes outta Chicago at the time included the chart success of "Jack the Groove" by Raze and Steve "Silk" Hurleys "Jack Your Body", other Artist's like Colonel Abrams "Music is the Answer, Marshall Jefferson and Byron Stingily CLASSIC'S TEN CITY's "Devotion", Farley Jackmaster Funk "LOVE CAN'T TURN AROUND", and of course Lil Louis (FRENCH KISS).Chicago house music had proved it's point and has gone on to firmly establish itself within the Dance, Club and Music Industry. And then my first visit to ibiza, where Dj's were playing Italian and European house,- Gino Latino's "Welcome", Izit "Stories", 808 Pacific State,and Electra's CLASSIC "Autum Love" also X-Tendeds "split"and Jago "I'm going to go". Clubbing was totally different here more relaxed,(ALFREDO) was mixing it up in the clubs at this stage with his Italian and spanish Flavours as well as incorporating High Energy Dance Music (which was usally left in the underground gay clubs).This i believe created EUROPEAN HOUSE. Then came the summer of 'love 89' in ENGLAND, more CLASSIC TUNES:- Frankie Knuckles "Tears ft: Robert Owens, Kariya "Let me love you for tonite", Dionne "come and get my lovin'" all out of chicago still, and then to Raze's "Break 4 love ft: keith Thompson (LEAD VOCAL)but this time, this tune emerged from Washington D.C , also Ritchie Rich "Salsa House", Rhythm is Rhythm "strings of life" and then to the British contingent from Manchester A Guy Called Gerald "VOODOO RAY" .(And no Criminal Justice Bill YET!---- IT'S TIME TO PARTY..........), so Plenty of oustide parties,as well as Warehouse raves such as:-)(BIOLOGY, ENERGY and SUNRISE but to name a few) then on to UNDERGROUND promotions events like JUNIOR BOYZOWN, SHOOM, QUEENS, TUDOR ROSE, NEW MEEOW, BLACK & WHITE, BLUE SOURCE AND MANY MORE all at various LONDON and HOME COUNTIES VENUES around the (M25). And a Birth of British Dj's and Producers and New Record Labels Were Created.
Limelight(Charing Cross Rd), Mud Club(Tottenham Crt Road), Hacienda(Manchester), Yikes(Slough), Valbons(Maidenhead), Queens Mother Reservoir(colnbrook), Club UK(Wandsworth), The Archies(WOT ONES THERE WERE SO MANY used by promoters but proper litte gaffs, and there was loads more to many to mention.Djs who i would go and listern too and get BOLLOX'D and RAVE LIKE A TRUE NUTTER were Andrew Weatherll & Terry Farley(JUNIOR-BOYZOWN), Rocky & Diesel, Danny Rampling, Carl Cox, Phil Perry, DOP, Pete Tong, Rat Pak, Brandon Block, Pete Walsh and many there were many more, believe me. Also a big BIG UP to all the Dj's and producers that that keep it movin' forawrds and upwards.
