I went out on loan to Nottingham Forest for six weeks at the end of that season, playing six games.In 2000/01 I won Chelsea's Player of the Year award.2001/02 was a big season for me, as a regular for Chelsea, making 49 appearances. I scored the winning goals in the FA Cup quarter and semi finals. I made a number of appearances for England Under 21s and was captain for a few games.However, my international chances were ruined after an incident involving a bouncer at the Wellington Cup in Knightsbridge. Me and along with team-mate Jody Morris and Wimbledon defender Des Byrne were arrested and charged with affray. I was banned from playing for England at all levels until the case was settled. The Player was cleared of all charges in August 2002.I picked up an FA Cup runners-up medal in 2002.I became captain of Chelsea in the 2003/04 season and his since led them to two successive Premiership titles in 2005 and 2006.
