The Myth of Valhalla DriveDeep in the forests of Bavaria lived the great Silverback who dwelt alone, and who alone possessed the power to unite the world through his divine gift for bass guitar. During a covert operation in this remote forest, a U.S. Army Ranger Commando unit was evading capture and wandered into his forgotten realm. They heard through the darkness the deep rumblings of the Silverback..s tones. They feared what they might be heading towards as they fled the approaching forces. A firefight broke out, and they were pinned between the enemies and the unknown. The Silverback now alerted, his deep rumblings turned to a sonic blast of seismic proportions and all who were laid in its path became enlightened as to the true beauty and purpose of life. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------The fighting stopped and the sounds pacified all of the soldiers until morning. When it was over their enemies quickly fled in a panic. The commando unit was recovered intact and told their incredible tale to the commanding officer. Soon Uncle Sam was in pursuit of this valuable treasure. Peace was not what they sought for they already the had the military advantage. They wanted to dispose of the Silverback - he was a threat. All of the Rangers who were there that day had gone MIA. They left notes that alluded to their new perception of life following the incident. The Silverback had to be eliminated. Well, eventually, they reasoned, first they wanted to determine the source of his power.But there was a leak. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------The fugitive Rangers had gone into hiding. One stayed in a Cabin on a remote lake in the peaceful state of Minnesota. His name was Jeff Peterson. There he rested his confused mind and listened patiently to the sounds of the waves lapping at the shore. He soon felt compelled to build a special set of drums. He selected the finest trees and fashioned beautiful metals out of the rich ores in the Iron Range. Within months he had taught himself the beginnings of a magical new gift. He vowed to reunite with the Silverback and share this awesome power with all of God..s children. His search was on. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------The U.S. special forces had been hunting the great Silverback equally as long. They knew his location and were monitoring his movements via satellite. What they couldn..t figure out was how to capture him without being rendered helpless in his aural assault. Eventually they devised a plan. Earplugs. They captured him in a terrible battle of which they barley prevailed. Soon he was shipped out of Bavaria on a secret CIA plane to the middle-eastern nation of Kuwait. This was necessary to avoid the detection of the Silverback by the European powers, and to fuel up for the final flight to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Two leaks. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------The plane never made it to Guantanamo The U.S. had underestimated Saddam Hussein. They didn..t know he had been monitoring their communications in the Arabian Peninsula. He knew they were landing in his neighbor, Kuwait, and could sense from the communications the magnitude of their cargo. The day the plane landed he seized the plane and invaded the tiny nation as cover for his operation. Still under heavy sedation from his U.S. capture, the Silverback was whisked into Iraq by the Republican Guard. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------Jeff Peterson recognized Saddam..s tactic and immediately flew to Lebanon under an alias. There he met up with three of his former unit - Mike Yerxa, Kasey Carlson, and Chris Johnson. They had all experienced similar personal mysteries and callings. The group crossed into Iraq through Syria and began their hunt. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------In the Iraqi retreat, the Iraqi Republican Guard were forced to hide the Silverback in a secret bunker. American troops had quickly invaded and were searching feverously through the country. Lacking the necessary pharmaceuticals in the bunker to continue sedation, the Silverback awakened. Dazed and angry, he raged against the small force of captors and escaped from the bunker undetected by the Americans. He fled north. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------Staying off the roads and away from the villages, he traveled across the scorching desert. At night he quietly hummed his divine harmonies and camped in the chilly air underneath the cloudless, star-filled skies. On the fitfh morning, he awoke to the sounds of music in the distance. It was the Ranger unit. They had purchased an old bus and equipped it with an enormous amplification system, generator, and beautiful instruments. They hired a local guide, Joel Phillips, and were traveling across the barren landscape, hoping to lure the Silverback with their music. Intrigued and sensing no danger, the Silverback presented himself as they passed. They slowed to a halt. Jeff busted down sexy-ass, funky-ass rhythm and the band joined in with glorious melody. The Great Silverback approached. Mike presented him with a custom Ernie Ball bass and plugged it in.
