I pretty much rock the house...well, maybe not, but I'm not that bad of a guy. I grew up in Tuscaloosa, a small city in the great state of Alabama. Now I know that many of you probably think that I am a backwoods redneck due to my place of birth, and I know that listening to me talk with my southern accent (that I swear is barely perceptible no matter how many people tell me otherwise, and there are quite a few who tell me otherwise) wouldn't do much to change that perception, but I think that I am pretty much like everyone else. I struggle through life one day at a time, sometimes loving it and sometimes not. I'm not sure exactly when it took place, but at some point in my life I realized that life seemed pretty much pointless. We live, breath, eat, sleep, work, and occasionally have some fun, but I wondered what's the point. What was I seeking to accomplish? I found the answer in the form of a relationship with Jesus Christ. I discovered that Jesus was my God, a God who I had turned my back on to pursue my own personal desires. I owe Him my very existance and yet I shunned Him. It was not until I realized that my life should be lived in light of my relationship with Him that I found purpose in life. Up to that point I had trusted in my own strength to carry me through life. It is not until I found that relationship that I found a sense of belonging in this world. Another thing that helped me in my journey was Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis. Just a suggestion of something that helped me. I am now a student at Dallas Theological Seminary working on my masters in Biblical counseling. I also work with a youth group in Plano at Fellowship Bible Church North. I hope to soon be working in the field of counseling. My desire is to help people through hard times. We all have them, some are just better at hiding them than others.
