I'm Famous in South-Eastern New Schwabenalend.

About Me

While there are alot of things that I can say about myself, there is nothing more important about me than I have been radically changed by the love of Jesus Christ. When I was in high school I was living a life for myself and my own pleasure. Being heavily involved in drugs and alcohol, I was searching for real truth in an evil and depraved world. Amazingly, I was led to a camp in North Carolina where I heard about the incredible grace of Christ. For the first time in my life I understood the message and it drastically changed me. Some how... some way my lifestyle changed and I saw my friends being impacted also. In college I got involved in the same ministry which eventually led me to Dallas Theological Seminary where I had the honor and privilege of studying to teach others about God's grace and forgiveness. The training that I recieved has helped pave the way for my new job where I am counseling struggling adolescents in Longview, Texas.

My Interests

I love sports, music, art, traveling and joking around. My favorite sport teams are the UGA Bulldawgs, Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Braves (anything that is from the ATL & don't tell anyone but I don't mind the Dallas Mavs now that I live out here). My favorite bands are listed below. Besides Monet, Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, and Jackson Pollack which everyone knows and likes... a few of my other favorite artists are Renoir, Jacques Loiseau (both impressionist), and Andrew Wyatt (a realist painter). My adventures with traveling have provided a lifetime memories, which have crossed over thirteen countries and a vast variety of cultures. I love to travel and go on mission trips as both show me how the Lord moves in amazing ways. While I am not studying hard, I love long walks on the Dallas gravel beach and then running into the ocean (the local cess pool) and shaking my hair dry like a dog. Point to ponder: Candle light dinners are nice but wouldn't a dinner next to a bug zapper be more romantic?

I'd like to meet:

If I had a chance to meet anyone... I'd like to meet C.S. Lewis. The guy was an amazing writer and it seemed like he knew how to balance life with intellect, emotion and spirituality. Just think how cool it would be to sit back and shoot the breeze with him at the Eagle and Child in Oxford!

Music:

Bands that I think rock are: U2, Switchfoot, Weezer, Keane, Coldplay, Copeland, Snow Patrol, The Rosebuds, The Stills, Postal Service and Breakaway Ministries. I also like Voxtrot, Pat Green, Shane Bernard, Caleb Caruth, Shane MacDonald, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, David Gray, Bebo Norman, Ed Cash, Pete Yorn, Duran Duran, Elliot Smith, Eva Cassidy, James Taylor, The Killers, Oasis, Outkast, Ted Leo + the Pharmacists, Drivin' n Cryin', The Beastie Boys, The Rentals, Rooney, Travis, The Strokes, Guster, Frank Sinatra, The Shins, The Shakey Hands, The Format, Stereophonics, Usher, and Kayne West. Anything that rocks is cool with me!

Movies:

Favorite comedy: Tommy Boy--hands down! Favorite action: Braveheart. Favorite Creepy Movie: Seven . Favorite childhood movie: Goonies. Favorite Animated Movie: Shrek 2. Favorite Trilogy: Lord of the Rings. Favorite baseball movie: The Sandlot. Favorite Movies that extended through 6 films: Star Wars. Favorite movie with Jack Nicholas and Adam Sandler: Anger Management. Favorite movie that I never saw: I Robot.

Television:

Truthfully, I don't watch it. But if I did it would probably be Sportscenter (rumblin stumblin bumblin), Discovery Channel (the human body is really weird yet fascinating), the Contender (overly dramatic + blood gushing = a successful boxing reality show) or Pimp my Ride (they do some really stupid things to those cars... like a fireplace in a trunk... what the?).

Books:

I love C.S. Lewis's Screwtape Letters and Mere Christianity, Phillip Yancy's What's So Amazing About Grace, Bruce Demarest's The Cross and Salvation, Cloud and Townsend's Boundaries, Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life and the all-time classic Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham.

Heroes:

I've had a couple of great heroes in my life. First, my dad because I appreciate and notice more about him and the sacrifices he makes as I get older. Second, is my friend Todd Edwards. He built his life upon giving to others, especially high school guys like me. Although he passed away years ago, he will always be cherished for the influence that he had in my life.
