About Me

Much like the ocean, the world of hip-hop is made of various species. Every few years like a tsunami, an artist emerges and washes to shore bringing fresh new life and growth into existence. This year of 20007 the California native Tron 7 Seize arrives to introduce a new art form of musical expression to the world of hip-hop. Born and raised in Compton California, Tron (La’Tron Hutchins) came into the world 3-7-1977 which makes him a Pisces; 1977 is also noted as the birth year of hip-hop... In his early years Tron grew up listing to K-DAY, an AM radio station in L.A. that played rap twenty four hours a day. Tron was influenced by rap artist such as Run DMC, NWA, ICE-T, EPMD, Public Enemy, L.L. Cool J, KRS-One and Slick Rick just to name a few.Born an only child to a 16-year-old mother who wanted the best for him she made a decision that would change his life. They packed up and moved from the ghettos of Compton to the suburbs of Huntington Beach California. In this new matrix Tron was exposed to a variety of ethnicities, cultures and diverse art forms such as skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding. His passion for extreme sports and fashion lead him to design skateboarding shoes for such companies as Vans Footwear and DC Shoes. He also became influenced by artists of other genres of music such as Nirvana, Bjork, Portish Head, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Rage Against The Machine. It was at Huntington Beach High School where Tron entered his first talent show and it was a smash. After his first place win, this fish knew that music was the ocean he wanted to swim in eternally.Tron 7 Seize describes his music as eclectic. He combines rap with electronica, soul, jazz, rock and afro funk and other world music, all while maintaining a classic early 90’s hip- hop vibe. He has been performing in the Los Angeles area and making radio appearances on KPFK National Public Radio. He has also been busy working on his debut album “Explorations of Sound,” set to launch in spring 2008. His passion for world travel is represented on this album as he features artist from around the world and from diverse backgrounds. This passion is also pored into his debut single “We Can Go,” where he vivdly expresses his love for exploration and even mentions global warming reshaping our earth. This track is a melodic blend of live instruments, harmony and 7 Seize’s imaginative flow. In other songs such as “Water,” a remake of Afro Beat pioneer Fela Kuti’s “Water Gets No Enemies,” Tron captivates listeners with a contrast of jazz, afro funk and hip-hop while encouraging us all to do our part to reduce the amount of pollution on the earth. He mentions how the toxins in our water may cause cancer and touches on the death of his childhood friend who lost his battle with cancer at age 32.Tron 7 Seize as an environmental and community activist is pledged to do his part!By volunteering with non profit organizations such as Heal the Bay,” which conducts beach clean ups throughout Southern California and “Tomorrows Aeronautical Museum” which offers after school tutoring and exposes inner city youth to the world of aviation.Tron 7 Seize has pledged to educate and entertain with good music!
