THE REFRESHERS!

About Me

Over the last 2 decades Rob Glover, Des Scorfield and Baz Thompson Have been proving their talent throughout the North East in Bands such as Message and Janorak. In Febuary 2007 a change in line up came with a new singer - Sarah "Blottie" Richardson and with her a new look and new sound that has become The Refreshers!Although Sarahs musical experience was limited, her talent and enthusaism has shone through and added to the lads experiance has had them hailed by the Sunderland Echo as one of the "top 5 bands in the North East". The last year has gone by in a whirlwind and the hard work is paying off with regular gigs on both sides of the river. New songs are coming thick and fast too with The Refreshers sound gradually getting heavier and more punk rock, but also keeping it fun. They have been compared to Blondie, Motorhead and Siouxsie and the Bandshees to name but a few and are loving the honour of being compared to their influences. You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !NORTH PHASE MAGANZINE SINGLE REVIEWTHE REFRESHERS - School DaysThe Refreshers are a local band, coming as they do, from Newcastle. They are at present unsigned, but are slowly building up a loyal following.'School Days' is an up-beat number with jangly guitars and is very catchy. The other tracks I heard include 'Walking on Eggshells', which again features a nice guitar line and 'Sad Mans Corner', which is slower affair featuring just vocal and acoustic guitar. The band are playing Pure in Sunderland on Wednesday 30 January and Bernaccia in Newcastle on Monday 18th February so catch them, and be one of those people who, in a few years time, will be boasting that you saw them before they were big.
