There is beauty in the darkness

About Me

There is beauty in the darkness. When we deny the darkness, we deny part of ourselves. Express it, let it out, make it beautiful. That's what these songs here are about. While I don't make too much music in this style, playing more world fusion music these days, these songs harken back to my musical roots as a disaffected and ostracized high school student growing up in rural California in the 1990s. In many ways, I credited my learning the guitar to intensely studying Robert Smith's style and technique, which is clearly reflected in these songs. The Cure and the Cocteau Twins were incredible influential for me, and I like to pay homage to these great bands by keeping this style alive and bringing out the beauty in the darkness. For songs more in keeping with my current styles, check out some of my shamanic world fusion at Orobai and Shaman's Path , and if you like, check out my fantasy novel, Orobai's VisionOrobai's Vision -- a Postmodern Shamanic Fable for a New Ecological Age
