Can I simply state, I have a lot of them? I love working. But only if I know I'm forwarding my purpose in some way. I like being with friends, doesn't really matter where I am with them, even if it's at a disgusting Del Taco with a bunch of crazies giving us the stare down. We make it enjoyable somehow. Like goin' to the movies, talking with awesome people at 2 o'clock in the morning, coffee, reading, dancing, gaining knowledge of any kind. I admire the people who are doing something with their lives, and that have the initiative to create change for the better.
Beings of every kind.
Music is my air. breath breath. beat beat. I'm pretty versatile when it comes to music. The only thing I'll really reject is annoying techno and some country. Other than that, I can listen to almost anything if it's good. But I'm drawn a little more to melodic rock, indie, alternative, indie-folk, ska, and jazz/blues. Thats my EXTREMELY vague and general like and dislike bit on music.
I love the concept outlining, the pre-production, filming, post-production, and viewing. All of it.
I'm really into films with many facets to them. I'm a big fan of off-beat, weird dark comedies. I like the lighter stuff too. I probably couldn't tell you my all time favorite film, because I just don't have one. I have several. I might go out on a limb one day and try to name a few, but today's not that day. Actually, come to think of it, that day will most likely never arrive.
What I don't like are films with absolutely no point and are tedious and boring not worth viewing more than five minutes of. Don't get me wrong I love wordy movies, just so long as it's done in a witty, intelligent way. Instead of having you leaning over your chair hoping for a flood or earthquake so you can leave the theater without feeling bad about purposefully wasting your money. But even if I have a small iota of interest for a movie, I'll take the time to watch it.
You're Holly Golightly
from Breakfast at Tiffanys.
It comes and goes. And quite a visually hypnotic way to get nothing done. But I end up watching it anyway sometimes. The good stuff.
Fav books - Stranger In A Strange Land, A Separate Peace, Heaven Can Wait, The Hobbit, A play by Moliere entitled "The Misanthrope"(freakin' funny), Catch-22, Old Church Slavonic folklore, and one of my absolute favorite si-fi books is Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card and it's parallel novel Ender's Shadow. Just to name a few. Card has actually written a few of my favorite books. I love the way he gets inside my head. It blows my mind. Anyway, writing like that and anything that L.R.H. has written I will fall over for.
L.R.H.. My Dad. Songwriters. Artists in general, I salute you.
