I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am thinking of becoming a really passionate L.A. Avengers fan. If you don't know what that means, then I should tell you they are an arena football team. I have no interest in arena football, but they are named after a team of Marvel heroes. That's gotta count for something! Now, if they were the L.A. Dumbledore's Army, I'd be in nerd heaven. My buddies, The Gorgonites, just released their first video. Watch it, laugh, puke a little, then laugh some more. Because you're a miracle too!For your information, that video was shot on the very streets, alleys and parks where I was raised. Warms the cockles to think about.

My Interests

Movies (seriously, any kind of movies. If it's commited to film, I'll give it a fair shot ... well, not gay porn ... or a snuff film). Music (I don't hate rap as much as I used to. I downright enjoy Outkast, Atmospheres, Streets, and even Marshal and D12, but mostly listen to rock in general: classic, punk, modern, new wave, "alternative" ... but I detest numetal, whatever that means. Godsmack, Linkin Park, Puddle of Mudd, Disturbed ... All those bands with their daddy issues can all take their tour buses and drive off a fuckin' cliff). Other than that I like theatre!!! Adult Swim (Smoke while you do it). Longboarding (that's not a metaphor). Pai Lum Kung Fu. I plan on learning to surf. Acting, Writing. Reading. DVD extras, learning as much about music as possible. Going out for dinner or drinks. Texas Hold'em. Hackey sack. Driving all over hell just to better learn where I'm going around here. Drawing. I've lost my love for comics but have a nice little collection that made it out west with me. And I spend a good amount of time on the computer keeping tabs on the Magnificent Bastards in Central Pennsylvania ... Until something more productive comes along.

I'd like to meet:

I'm happy to say I've already met a lot of the people that I've wanted to meet in this life, except for like Bruce Lee, Chris Farley, and Judas ... I want to meet Judas so I can punch his face. I'd also like to meet a woman who rides a griffin, wears a bikini made of gold and faux polarbear fur, and carries a sword with a blade of ice ... Just because it's safe to assume that such a woman would be pretty sexy, if all that flea market art is any indication.Take the quiz:
What Anchorman Character are you? BETTER PICTURES THAN THE REST!!!

Dave Blood), David Bowie, Queen, Psychadelic Furs, International Noise Conspiracy, Jimmy Eat World, Elton John, a little bit of James Taylor, a littler bit of Jackson Brown, NEIL DIAMOND, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Coldplay, INTERPOL, Replacements, New Order, PROCLAIMERS, more David Bowie, The Strokes, White Stripes, Hives, Flattop Tony and the Purple Canoes, The Electric Underwear, The Beatles, TENACIOUS D, Thursday, At The Drive-In, Led Zepplin, AC/DC, The Fuck-ups, TURBO NEGRO, Bel Biv Devoe, Skynyrd is wearing thin, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Jam, all sorts of 80s stuff and classic rock, and to adequately represent Central Pennsylvania: Poison and +Live+ ... But not Fuel ... Fuel sucks.

Movies:

These are some of my favorites in no particular order ... I think to claim that any one movie is your favorite above all others is to have your head in the sand ... Russell Vs. Lo Pan, Pitt Is Norton, Soldier Heist '99, Star Wars:A Whiney Teen, Star Wars: Whiney Teen Fouls Up, Everyone Dies but Bruce, Stiffler Fight, WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, Art is for Affleck, Drawn Man, Boston Orphan Math, Diamond Chase with Boxing, Dafoe Chases Irishmen, Ming Quest into Space, He is Black and Knows Kung Fu, Loose Plot to Avenge Sister on Island, Seven Lucky Ninja Kids, Spring Break Hate Flesh (I think it's a very important movie for the horror genre), English Running Zombies (huge fan of Alex Garland's writing ... which explains) Leo Starts his Comeback 2000, LOTR Trilogy, Fists of Fighting: Legend of the Angry Fighting Fist, Ya'll Are Brutalizin' Me, Beautifully Shy French Girl, Kung Fu Man loves Kung Fu Woman but Kung Fu Teen Ruins All, Samurai Cowboy Woman is Vengeful and a Mom Vols. I & II (yeah, both, smart-ass), Jennifer Love Hewitt Ascends Throne of Hotness (class of 98, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and a pretty bitchin' soundtrack make up for all kinds of bad shit) Winged Hillbilly Eats Rednecks (you don't have to like it, but you should at least respect it) Meyers Mask 1 2 & H2O, Ash Hates Evil (Shop smart, shop S Mart), OLD SCHOOL, Convenience Chat, Mall Chat, Lesbian Chat, Angel Coup Chat, Stop That Movie Chat (haven't seen Jersey Girl yet, but anything that has J-Lo dying in the first 20 minutes is doing something right) and yet I say Clooney 'scape!, interesting ... 11 Casino Boys, Del Toro Force, Barris Tell-all, The Kid Is Robert Evans, They Bowled then Shot, Stiller has Diaz Fever (set the bar for line-crossing, gross-out humor, and has yet to be matched) Mutant Team 1&2 (mostly 2) Vin Dies-aliens (greatest Aliens remake ever, and Vin Diesel wasn't a complete tool just yet) Guadal Canal was Intense, Cable = Friends (Jim Carey has yet to outdo himself) Where is Kyle Gass in This Movie (Cello, you've got a bass)?, 80's Pop Teen Through Time, Kidman Bike!, Australians in Masks Need Oil, Bored Teens Shot by Cops, Shattered Ducky, He Will Not Be Caught For Faking Sick, Downey+Gertz+McCarthy+Coke (some of Andrew McCarthy's worst), Dawson likes Sossamon, Not Batman Begins but Bloody, Warehouse Belly-bullet Gang, Little Brother Taught to Hate X, Australians Without Masks need Tolerance, Documentary of Skate, Trent & Mikey are Friends, Tall Man Has Worked for Santa, Pirates Mean We Stay (well, duh), Man in Hat Lets Midgets Murder(teach children to behave by using candy to punish them) Slaves to Computer Trilogy (because I REALLY LOVE Kung Fu, and there's some damn fine work in there) Sewel City, Reeves Vs. Oldman (if only for Winona) DeNiro Mirror (well, duh part 2) Super Willis, Japan Hates its Children, Tranny Song 2000, Australian without Mask Needs to Stop Breaking Laws (The Eric Bana you never knew you wanted to see) ... I think this has gone on long enough ...

Television:

The Office, The IT Crowd (uk), Simpsons, SNL, FAMILY GUY, Everybody Loves Raymond (Only because Patricia Heaton is frikkin' gorgeous!) THE DAILY SHOW, Home Movies, The Apprentice, Reno 911, Seinfeld reruns, LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN (The Masturbating Bear, Pimp-bot 2000, Triumph, "In the Year 2000," Camel Toe Annie, and now the Walker Texas Ranger lever have propelled Conan's show into the comedic stratosphere ... Letterman, Leno, Kilborne have never and will never climb so high) Sealab 2021, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Trading Spaces (Only because Paige Davis is frikkin' gorgeous) King of the Hill, Arrested Development, Mr. Show with Bob and David, the short-lived Tenacious D show, The Young Ones, Red Dwarf, Red Green ... this too has gone on long enough ...

Books:

Alex Garland's "The Beach," and "The Tesseract." Chuck Palahniuk's "Fight Club," "Choke," "Lullaby," "Survivor" ... probably the best one. I highly recommend "When Do I Start?" the autobiography of Karl Malden ... one of the greatest character actors of our time, and just a real stand-up kind of guy. Bruce Lee's "Tao of Jeet Kune Do" Peter Farelly's "The Comedy Writer" ... And yes, I've started reading the Harry Potter books. Screw you for judging me.

Heroes:

The Upright Citizens Brigade, Pretty much anyone who's been a cast member of SNL (except for you, Robert Downie Jr. You know why!) Bruce Lee, late Grandmaster Daniel Kane Pai, Chris Farley, Jack Black, Will Ferrel, Pai Pono Li, Wolverine, and Dan Irwin ... Or as the ladies call him "The Treasure Hunter" ... G marks the spot, Dan-O!
