The Story

This is how The Story goes …
Once upon a time, in an aural universe far away, beats traveled in bytes between Stefonix and Mark.O., the main characters in The Story. Trading samples, rhythm and rhyme between Brooklyn and LA is just the latest chapter in a creative partnership that has spanned continents, mediums and decades.
The first chapter opened in Southern California when the two kicked it bando style trading sax solos in one of the state's top marching bands. Though raised on diverse soundtracks of soul, jazz, rock and classical music, they found their artistic identities in early 90s hip hop. Their creative partnership carried them through art school, where Stefonix worked in digital media and Mark.O. pursued fine art painting and photography while battling each other for world foosball domination.
Music was their shared language and one they spoke across continents after Stefonix was invited by Sony-BMG to produce singles for BK-One and DuJaDa in Bangkok, Thailand. The chart-topping hits helped popularize a new sound in the country's emerging hip-hop scene. Back in California, Mark.O. continued to hone his musical stylings while freelancing in design and exhibiting his art in galleries throughout L.A. Upon Stefonix’s return from Asia the two created an original score for the independent film, "Paper Sons" by David Woo. This is the time where their collaboration became the preface and the identity of The Story. They have recently been featured on MYSPACE.COM "Artist of the Week" and have since created a buzz amongst an audience that spans around the globe. Technology has played a big role in how their music has been created, making it a fitting way to share the music as well.
Though they now reside on opposite coasts, their artistic collective has grown stronger, as they push the creative envelope. From music to multimedia, photography to design, their mastery of such diverse mediums has formed the basis for a media empire intent on finding more innovative ways to tell The Story.
