Formed in july 2006 by Scruff Lewty (Guitars/Vocals) & Simon Spiers (Drums), the band quickly located bassplayer "Rooster" and extra-percussionist Paul Smart,.... and set about writing a set of tracks for immediate recording. Whilst having fun and enjoying the natural "vibe" of their craft,........

Sadly Rooster had other commitments with his own band Expedestrian and had to leave. Paul (clangor of war) decided to leave, too.... But all was not lost,...enter new bassplayer Johnny Mortimer,........and MOODHOOVER are a functioning unit again.
NEW MINI ALBUM RECORDED & OUT SOON ON FURY 76 RECORDS
"EDUCATING THE POOR WILL ONLY MAKE THEM RIOT"
Moodhoover spent much of april/may perfecting the new mini album "Educating the poor will only make them Riot", due for release on FURY 76 records in june/july 2007. Containing 7 tracks including a highly professional PROMO VIDEO "Make my day...". The mini album was recorded at DRAGONFLY STUDIOS in the vale of EVESHAM (Worcester) and at the production-helm was none other than Dr David Draper,........Dr.Draper got the SOUND whilst the 'Hoover assisted in much tea-drinking and pondering. We learnt that, although Dr.Draper is an eccentric ODDITY, he is, nevertheless a good and fair man. The video to "MAKE MY DAY" was also shot in the same vicinity as DRAGONFLY STUDIOS,.making it a very organic and green affair. The video should be available for VIEWING on this site soon,.and will also be a BONUS FEATURE on the album itself.
None of the MOODHOOVER experience would be possible without the following sweet bi-pedal beings - Max (Medamaki), Heather, Paul Smart, Rooster, Johnny & Winnie, Nic Birmingham (Dumb Runt), Mattias (Lemmut/Sweden), Craig Hornby (Pancrack TV), Gareth Strange (Strange People TV Productions), Steve & Julie Spiers (Dragonfly), Si & Jess (Dragonfly), Dr. David Draper.........NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN ! WE REMEMBER YOUR KINDNESS & ASSISTANCE,.Oh,...yer,.damn straight.
In a recent interview, quirky and "quite serious" drummer - Si Spiers says it all,........."We put quite a bit of time into the recording and had the top "ears" and hands of producer Dave Draper,........who runs FFG studios as well as other recording facilities. I think dave has done us proud and we are happy with the mix. Then, FURY 76 records signed the band in a SNAP because they "liked" us (!) Result..."
Guitarst/Vocalist "Scruff" Lewty is more forthcoming,........
"We just want to ROCK out, you know,......we ain't looking for huge critical acclaim and we ain't looking to copy the "next big thing",........we all work together and jam on the songs and when we are happy with them we keep 'em. There is no grand master-plan. We have a small uk tour coming up supporting an excellent band from Norway and a top quality band from Evesham (Worcestershire,uk) called Medamaki. Both of which are on Fury 76 records, and both of which are our personal friends,...so it should be quite fun..." Future MOODHOOVER plans include branching out with piano/violin/extra percussion and a massive wall of sound,.slicing chunks of ROCK and ambient atmospheric indulgences,......not to mention a cd single of a few BRAND NEW tunes.....we really just LOVE it.
Bassplayer and Jesus-lookalike Johnny "Jorn" Mortimer comes across a little befuddled.......
"When I joined this band I wondered to myself,......."Oh,.FUCK ! What have I gotten myself into HERE,........." you know,...? But it all seems to be going ok,.......I'm in a "signed" band with a BRAND NEW MINI-ALBUM coming out,.....I just spent a mental weekend shooting a promo-video with a mad bunch of bastards and it was really cool,.......We are apparently going on a small uk tour in October with two great bands,...so I am going WITH that !...what exactly is there to complain about, you know?...". A lot of people don't get this chance and I am loving it. So there. Boo shoolakaa!
