Since The Killing Cure made their first appearance at sold out Gamla, Oslo February 2006, there seemed to be only one way to go for the band.Only four months after their first show the deal for an EP was sealed with the U.K label Fury 76. This fall The Killing Cure is releasing their self-titled debut EP. Pumped up with bone hard riffs and twisted insanity, it's clear that it is a masterpiece of stoner/groove rock. Though the five headed monster currently resides in Oslo, Norway,
The Killing Cure is a multinational band.Swedish/Spanish Tommy Gomez is the band’s intense front man and natural born rock star. With ruthless self confidence and a firm grip of the mic he is open for anything. This blended man has a smoky aftertaste and is most definitely ready to rock anytime, anyplace. Try to call him...if there's no answer he’s probably kicking back to Kyuss or Hermano.American, Corey Proulx came to Norway five years ago. He’s been warming up for bands like The Jayhawks and legendary Dick Dale in the U.S. He’s got the fingers and the tongue of a chef when it comes to both his guitar playing and his taste of music, peppering the songs with blistering riffs. Led Zeppelin, Brant Bjork and Tool are only few of the ingredients for a perfect dish.Venezuelan, Hebert GarcÃa is the man on four strings. As an artist and perfectionist in everything he does, he’s also the brain child behind the production on The Killing Cure’s debut EP. Garcia is laying the foundation of groove! As a listener he enjoys Muse, Radiohead and The Mars Volta.Martin Blekkerud, ragging from Norway, never gets enough Queens of the Stone Age, Black Sabbath or the sound of KISS. This guy plays guitar riffs and solos in his sleep, hence the combination of dreamy insanity. This guitar pair has been playing together for eight years, one begins where the other ends.Roger Torgersen, Norwegian, is the bands latest recruit and official member of T.K.C since January 2007. His laid back attitude is a contradiction to his drum playing, which is thunder god like. The ambrosia for this kind of god is music like Alice in Chains and Presidents of the U.S.AThe Killing Cure played a handful of concerts in the Oslo region, including Øyafestival 2007 and an upcoming UK tour.
