HOWLIN.. MAMA!
Howlin.. Mama was formed in 2003 by four guys with background from
(legendary) bands like the Squareheads, the Nuggets and the Basement Brats. After writing, rehearsing and recording for a couple of years, Howlin.. Mama released their first EP, 5 HOWLIN’ TRACKS, in the summer of 2005. The EP gives you a taste of what was later to be known as "the howlin..sound". The rest of the year was spent playing whereever and whenever someone wanted to book them.
The summer of 2006 saw a change for the band, out went Kim, and in came Thomas. A few months were spent rehearsing and writng new material, and at the end of the year, Howlin.. Mama entered the studio once again. Even though the same studio was being used, (we..re talking about the legendary Athletic Sound Studio), the result came out a little bit different, and much better than the last time around; the budget was bigger, the band tighter, and most of all, the songs were better! The songs spans form classic start/stop-garage in Leave It Behind, straight forward punk-rock in Low Fuel Mania to sixties inspired twelve-string ballad in Somewhere In the Middle.
The band released the new EP MAMA’S LITTLE HELPER on their own label Howlin.. Records, in the autum of 2007, and has then been busy playing and promoting the record.
