About Me

IN THE BEGINNING ..................
Originally Formed in June 07 under the name of “Our Last Mile” Karl & Dan set out to change their then pop-punk sound into something more mature and representative of the members musical influences.
They quickly set about looking for a rhythm guitarist, vocalist and a drummer. The search didn’t go to well and after countless auditions the band settled down as a three piece. The reason for this was that the band were contracted to play Southsea Bandstand and Gosport Parkfest and needed to switch there focus on rehearsing old and new material. Fortunately the gigs went down pretty well and landed "Our Last Mile" with free studio time, their first pay cheque and Karl’s first trip of the year to A&E with a broken hand.
Once the summer had come to an end the band restarted their search for the new members. Through a friend Dan met a guitarist named Rich who coincidently was looking for a band and shared very similar music tastes! Rich was taken on immediately after his audition and with him cam his good friend Dave to take the position of lead vocals. The band now took a step towards the metal side of music and therefore decided to change the name of the band to accommodate the change in genre. The name decided upon was Rich and Dave’s previous band name “Sonerty” A name that is in fact two words melded together, one half light and the second half dark, representing the schizophrenic nature of our music; sometimes brutal and unforgiving yet euphoric and even tinged in popular rock. With a new name and the two new members the line up was complete……..Or was it?
Unfortunately in the music business there are always casualties and in this case the original drummer Saul was axed. This was due to a lack of commitment by Saul and his pent up sexual tension towards Karl. Fortunately Adam came to the rescue; he settled in almost immediately and picked up the songs just as fast. Adam in many ways saved “Sonerty” from disappearing as he added new life to our songs and through his friend Andy gave us our first recording opportunities.
The Band are now looking for any possible gigs as well as trying to record a full EP to get out to everyone! Watch this space!
THE STORY BEHIND THE MEMBERS
Dave - The lead vocalist. Dave was brought into the picture by guitarist Rich after Dan decided he no longer wanted to fill in the roles of both guitarist and lead singer. Daves growl adds another aggressive layer to the overall sound of the band, this coupled with dual guitars and soaring melodies makes Sonerty a force to be reckoned with.
Dan -The oldest member of the band and the first member of the Woolworths Trio (all will become clear). He helped form the band with Karl after the fall of “At All Cost”. Dan’s been playing guitar for over 4 years now and with his old school Melodic Death Metal combined with alt rock influences adds a hardcore yet melodic edge to the band. Also check out his other bands the indie rockers "The Stone Crows" and Pop Punkers “Cure The Disaster”!
Rich - Sharing guitar duties with Dan is Rich, heavily influenced by metal core acts such as Killswitch and All that remains he adds to the brutal nature of the band also rich is a perfectionist and precision is another key element he brings to the table. However it isn't enough to say he is only influenced by metal as his music taste ranges from 80's glam rock all the way through to European death metal! He is also the second of the three members to work in the commercial road Woolworths!
Karl - The other founding member of the band and attempted manager. Karl the man known for his stunted height plays bass for the band. He also finishes off the Woolworths trio, His influences are varied and represent all forms of metal. With Karl supplying the deep end sounds and lively stage presence what could go wrong
Adam - The final member of the band. The first time we heard him play are jaws literally dropped and he was asked to join almost immediately. The guy's been playing for about 4 years now and is influenced heavily by death metal. With that the final piece was laid into the bands puzzle, with Adam's complex heavy beats we have the ability to go places. Also check out Adams metal band "Dead Saviour".
