Blood&Guts

Greatest clothing co. in my apt. complex.

About Me

I am a small clothing company run by K8 Wince (w/considerable assistance from her husband Zack Wentz) of Kill Me Tomorrow / Tender Buttons etc. K8 has designed shirts, posters and album art for her band Kill Me Tomorrow, among many others, shown and sold paintings, dolls and hybrid art objects in galleries around the U.S. and, recently, illustrated Zack's novel The Garbageman and the Prostitute ( Chiasmus Press *see profiles in my "top 8"). K8 can also cook, speak Icelandic, distinguish quality wines from ones she can actually afford, and mix a mean cocktail. Hell, she can do just about everything but write her own "about me" section for this MySpace page. You've got to draw the line somewhere.

My Interests

Chewing up and spitting out the lines between artwork and attire.

I'd like to meet:

Nice people who would like to wear my clothes (the clothes I make, rather).

Music:

Mingus. Early Delta blues. Dub. Hip-hop (mostly non-bling varieties). Cabaret Voltaire/Richard H. Kirk. Black Sabbath. Sparks. Aphex Twin. Old radio broadcast records (The Shadow, Inner Sanctum, Suspense, Sherlock Holmes etc.). Too many good bands to list . . .

Movies:

The Party (and almost everything else Peter Sellers was in), Blade Runner, Lawrence of Arabia, La Strada, (most Bergman and Fellini), old Sherlock Holmes movies w/Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce, old horror movies w/Peter Lorre, Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi, the "Thin Man" series w/William Powell and Myrna Loy, Marx Borthers, W.C. Fields, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock . . . we've been watching a lot of Laurel and Hardy lately . . .

Television:

The Kingdom (original by Lars von Trier, NOT the Stephen King series), Twin Peaks, Ren & Stimpy (get the first two seasons and the new Ren & Stimpy "Lost Episodes"!), Carnivale, Brak Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, South Park, Sealab 2021, Strangers With Candy, Max Headroom, Alfred Hitchcock Presents . . .

Books:

"A Canticle for Leibowitz" by Walter M. Miller Jr. (probably the most important and moving book you could possibly read right now), "Blindess" by Jose Saramago (2nd place in that same category), Simenon, Dostoevsky, Vollmann, Gorky, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Chandler, Fante, Steinbeck, Dahl, Mrabet, Malzberg, Gary Panter, Charles Burns . . . Zack turned me on to Richard Sala recently, and I think his work is wonderful ("Maniac Killer Strikes Again" is a great place to start) . . .

Heroes:

E.O. Wilson, Harpo Marx, Orson Welles . . .
