About Me

Hi all!
Thanks for checkin’ out my stuff. I do not take sole responsibility for the existance of the songs above as they were all very much collaberative efforts but instead they are some of my favorite things that I have participated in creating.
I started playing music at a very young age, at 5 years old I was playing the violin and the drums and was taking formal drum lessons by the 1st grade and guitar lessons in 5th grade. I played until I was 14 years old, doing a few camp and school talent shows and stuff like that and then I seem to have found other ways to express myself, painting and photography until my senior year in high school, when I seem to have taken the name “high school" quite literally and drifted away from things for a while.
In 1989, as the haze began to clear, I rediscovered my musical interest and began to play the drums, guitar and bass again. I also enrolled in Temple University’s Radio-Television-Film school with a focus in audio production. A year later I moved into a house with new found band mates and we played and played and played. We also had a primitive recording set-up. Basicly 2 cassette 4-track tape machines slaved to each other and pretty much recorded everything we did (I have cases of old tapes). Doing things completely gonzo under the worst acoustic situations with crappy cheap equipment, we had to face horrible problems in the art of music recording and learned invaluable lessons because of it. I also became the drum tech for a touring band called Dark Blonde, which eventually migrated into performing with them as well. Again by spending as much time working with the sound reinforcement engineers in as many different environments as I did, I was continuing to fine tune my audio skills.
In 1993 I moved to New York and did short stints playing drums and percussion with several bands. In 1994 I joined a band called Serpentine and met David Gervai. David had slammin’ digital home studio (which in ’94 was way rare) and through the years of playing with him learned to master MIDI and digital audio applications. In 1995 David, Ann Marie Solo and I formed Shiva Screams. We recorded an album and in ’97 David and Ann Marie decided to pursue other interests.
I had met Sam Zimmerman in ’96 and coincidentally his project, Action Daddy, was collapsing as well so we joined up. We built a recording studio on the LES originally for our own personal use but in 1998 I opened it for commercial business. That same year I was hired by Atlantic Records to operate their New Media studio. There I run sessions of Atlantic’s a-list artists doing live performances and interviews for radio, television and internet broadcasts. In '99 I met Gabrielle Penabaz and began to work with her on her project Saint Eve. I joined her band when she went live and played many shows as her drummer/keyboard player including as an opening act for Gary Numan on his U.K tour in 2001.
In 2000 I moved the studio to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In 2002 I became an instructor at the School of Audio Engineering. Sam and I carried on making music as Action Daddy until 2004.
I am not currently playing in any official project but I continue to teach at SAE and I do production work, recording, mixing and mastering for many companies and bands. I recently co-produced a remix project with grammy award winning producer Mick Gochanour of the Rolling Stones', “I’m Free”.
