____________________________________________________________ _________________ ____________________________________________________________ _________________________ My Bio from Uberflieger Magazine 2007: ____________________________________________________________ _________________________ ____________________________________________________________ _________________________ After graduating from Art School in her native Hannover in Germany, where she was studying fine art and fashion and design, Heike Cimato left Germany to live and work in the Big fucking Apple.Heike lived in New York from 1995 to 2005 where she worked for several companies........Nike, Michael Jordan, Marc Ecko, Levis, Fila, Puma, Diesel, Shakara Ledard and other designers in New York. Besides researches trends and published several trend reports for Activewear & Denim to give companies direction for the upcoming seasons.For the last 10 years Heike resided in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one of the biggest artist communities in the world. In this community over 10.000 artists, musicians and creative live and have the opportunity to share their passion. Heike is very involved in the community and loves sharing he creative visions with her peers.Heike is truly passionate about Design & Art. She is interested in fashion design, art and architecture, music, people....and so much more. She especially loves the Japanese and Belgium designers.In 2005, Heike joined Nike, the european Headquaters in Amsterdam, Netherlands. When she started she evolved the Men’s Collection for the Footlocker account and brought it to the next level. Her first collection for Nike was the Summer 06 Traction for Footlocker . Followed by an urban collection and metro collection for them as well. Holiday 06 she started working also for the Womens Sport Culture Division. Her last sucessful collection was called "Soul" and is inspired by Underground Streetculture and links with the new Air Force1 shoe collection.Besides Design Heike’s passion is Art. She is painting since she can remember and had her first art exhibition when she was 16 in Germany. Others followed. She continues to work on large format canvas.Since living in Amsterdam Heike is travelling every 4 month to New York for inspiration and to hook up with her peeps. She loves travelling in general and she is inspired and appreciates different cultures and people.In the last years she has been travelling extensively in South America, Asia, Europe and of course the US .Her next destination will be Tibet and Antarctica.Heike always needs excitement in her life. If she can not find it where she is, she will create it.Belive me!..............Once Heike walked the Maccu Piccu in 4 days, flew a Cessna from the Hamptons to Manhattan and back, supported the relief efforts after the 9/11 incidents in NY , and helped kids from the Bronx to learn more about art.Heike is also very passionate in issues like environmentalism and global warming, and made a statement with her first recycling collection 1995 where she run as a finalist for the Igedo Awards. ..
