About Me

.. I am a family lover, music lover, movie lover, book lover, and computer geek; and all from a Christian world-view position. I am married, with six children, I run a mail order book company, I am a web designer by trade, and I play drums in two bands (see side bar).

I recently took the theological quiz, and here is who it says I am:
You scored as Reformed Evangelical. You are a Reformed Evangelical. You take the Bible very seriously because it is God's Word. You most likely hold to TULIP and are sceptical about the possibilities of universal atonement or resistible grace. The most important thing the Church can do is make sure people hear how they can go to heaven when they die.

My Interests

My interests, aside from music, include many things of a theological nature. I love reading and listening to theological lectures. Theological issues that I have been studying the most in the past five years or so include Eschatology/Preterism, Paedocommunion issues, the Federal Vision issue, ancient manuscripts and the canon of Scripture, and of course just about anything dealing with hardcore Reformed theology and church history.

I'd like to meet:

Well, let me think real hard....
Mike Portnoy...for obvious reasons...
Dave Weckl...for a year of drum lessons...
Billy Cobham...for another year of drum lessons...
Deen Castronovo...yes...more drum lessons
Ken Mary...yet more of the same (boy do I need help, or what?)

Music:

ME! Enjoy music! What an understatement (ask anyone). I have more than 2000 CDs and DVDs, so I am way over-stocked on music. I enjoy a variety of styles, from classical to jazz, pop, rock, hard rock, metal, prog metal, even a little country, etc. Some of my favorite bands at this time include (by category):
Prog rock/metal: Dream Theater, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, Liquid Tension Experiment, Neal Morse, Ayreon, Porcupine Tree, Proto-Kaw... and more and more
Power Rock/Metal: Rob Rock, Divinefire, Narnia, Veni Domini, Symphony X, Hammerfall, Firewind, Circle II Circle, Evergrey, and most any band/project that includes singers Rob Rock, Lance King, Christian Rivel or James LeBrie... and more and more
Hard Rock/Metal: Stryper, Tourniquet, Pillar, Michael Schenker, Galactic Cowboys, House of Lords, Thor, Krokus, King's X, Platypus, Jughead, Jelly Jam, The Mustard Seeds, Savatage... and more and more... (and just about all of the 80's "hair bands" of the day).
Classic Rock/Pop: Deep Purple, Rainbow, UFO, Whitesnake, Kansas, Billy Joel, Adam Ant, The Partridge Family...and more and more....
Jazz: Spyro Gyra, Billy Cobham, Dave Weckl, The Rippingtons, Buddy Rich and a handful of others.I currently play drums in two local bands. The first being Hemotheory (www.hemotheory.com), an original-music Christian hard rocking outfit, so go check out our site and watch the cool videos there and below. Secondly, I rock with Chasing Shadows (www.chasingshadowsmusic.com), which is a local club cover band with a handful of originals too.

Movies:

Fave movies...hmmmm, let me think: Spinal Tap, Star Wars, Star Trek, most comic book type movies, action beat-em-up martial arts-type flicks and so many more.

Television:

Some of the shows I commonly watch: King of Queens, Seinfeld, Friends, Joey, Frasier, Mad About You (you know, the classics). Plus other classics that are often watched on DVD like Firefly, Star Trek (all series), Babylon 5, and other fun stuff. I also enjoy COPS, an occasional Fear Factor, King of the Hill, America's Funniest Videos, and even a bunch of education shows on those channels most people fly past, including the Food network.

Books:

Well, I have a ton of them. I enjoy a wealth of theological titles, as well as historical titles (especially those centering around the War between the States of 1861-65). Some of the most recent titles read (in 2006-2007) include "Paedofaith" by Rich Lusk, "The Book of Enoch," "The New Testament Documents: Are They Reliable" by F.F. Bruce, "Israel & the Nations" by F.F. Bruce, "70 Weeks Have Been Determined for the Resurrection" by Don Preston, "The Last Days Identified" by Don Preston, "Daniel: Fulfilled Prophecy" by Jessie Mills. That is all I can remember off the top of my head. Of course the majority of these books can be purchased from my own online book store, the Apologia Book Shoppe .
Aside from books, I listen to a ton of sermon/lecture cds and audio books in the car as I drive. Some of the more amazing ones I have been listening to lately includes "Worshiping the Saints" as well as "The Politics of Sodomy" both by Douglas Wilson. Both are available from my book store also.

Heroes:

Gen. Robert E. Lee and Gen. Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson - great Christian leaders and gentlemen.
