Band Members: Me...just me, and all this kool teknology in my studio. For those kool layers and textures of sounds, I use the Roland Fantom 8, Roland V-Synth, a Yamaha Motif 6, and the lovely Indigo Virus. For gits and shiggles, Ill pull out an old nugget.. the Roland Juno 108. Oh yeah... just added to the arsenal, a Roland TD-10 V-Drum Kit ( Neil Peart Red of course!!) For the real stuff...On bass, it would be my trusty Fender Geddy Lee Signature Jazz Bass (no bass player should be without one) running thru the Hartke Kickback 12, or the Line 6 Bass Pod if my Shure KSM44 microphone isnt availabe. On guitar would be my bright money-green Yamaha. I cant really play the thing, but putting that thru my BOSS GS-10 effect module, and crankin it with my Randall 212 amp lets me get some cool swirly sounds that just makes music life worth livin!!
Influences: .. So many to list, its sick!! My musical taste touches every genre ....except gregorian chants... cant stand them!!! My true listening passion is Jazz Fusion, and progressive rock/metal..whatever you wanna call it!! If its in a wierd time signature (13/8 is cool!!) with talent behind it, Ill love it!! So, on with the list.. we will start with the locals(Maryland, DC, Virginia area). Most of these great artists have a Myspace page, so please check 'em out!! Brave, Orange Whip, Washington Social Club, Channels.. or anything J. Robbins touches (Burning Airlines, Jawbox) Clutch, Fugazi, The Fallen One, Steve Jenkins, Bad Brains, Chrysalis, O.A.R., Parachute Musicals (up and coming.. these guys are spectacular!!!) As far as my influences for my own music, four local artists are to blame, or to be thanked... Bev Stanton, who is ARTHUR LOVES PLASTIC, and Tanyu Nu who is TANTRONIQ. And I must add THIEVERY CORPORATION and DEEP DISH (i know i forgot some of you locals....But, you know i luv ya!! BIG PROPS FOR MY FAVORITE MYSPACE ARTIST SO FAR... EVERLIGHT, aka DJ SEA!! For a 16 year old, he makes some killer music..please check out his page... he is has been a huge musical influence these past 8 months! Ok, for the indies, and the majors.... RUSH, WEATHER REPORT (every member that has played with weather report as well), DREAM THEATRE, KISS, KING CRIMSON, SADE, JILL SCOTT, the great producer TREVOR HORN and anything he touches (Art Of Noise, Frankie Goes To Hollywood... yeah, I said it... Frankie!! Saw them twice in concert.. got a problem with that??) BJORK, BUBBLEMATH, MARS VOLTA, OZRIC TENTACLES, PAT METHENY, PINK FLOYD, the 2 true musical geniuses of our time, the late FRANK ZAPPA, and PRINCE....TOOL, WAGNER, YES, MILES DAVIS, JEFF BECK, STEVIE RAY VAUGHN, and of course JIMI HENDRIX.. BRAND NEW HEAVIES, JAMES BROWN, JOHN COLTRANE, MINGUS, ...and Ill stop with FISHBONE.
