The Bio:Known affectionately as Ra-Ra, Gaithersburg, MD native, Rashad Jenkins has become a recognized force on the Washington D.C. nightclub circuit. Reputed for his high energy approach to hosting a party, this powerhouse of talent and charisma has fueled a 6 year rise into
the D.C. nightlife industry positioning him as one of the areas leaders in event hosting and coordinating.Ra-Ra's decision to make a career out of the nightlife industry was not an overnight one. During his 4 years at Virginia Polytechnic & State University, Jenkins was often recognized by his fellow peers for being savvy to the local nightlife scene. "For some reason, it was
the natural assumption that I knew where to go on any given night in Virginia.' As a result, when the time came for him to lend his social sensibilities to the planning of local campus and off-campus events, he had a loyal following that grew continually confident from one
successful event to the next. Upon graduation, Jenkins made use of his skill for entertaining the masses and decided to pursue a career in event coordinating and hosting. With Washington D.C. in his sights, he and four close friends and colleagues created The IDC Group, LLC in January 2002. An acronym for Innovation, Dedication, and Creativity, the four young entrepreneurs sought to bring something new to the D.C. metropolitan area by creating a company that functioned as both an event marketing and promotions engine.Co-Owner and appointed CIO of The IDC Group, Jenkins was given charge of developing the list serv which he cultivated to over 60,000 members in less than 3 years. Described as events for the grown and sexy, The
IDC Group has seen a burgeoning company grow into a trusted source of memorable events for the young and successful D.C. market. A natural team player and net worker, Jenkins role within The IDC Group eventually gave him the experience and credibility to secure event
work independent of the company. One of the shared responsibilities of The IDC Group was event emceeing, something that matched Ra-Ra's energetic personality.A natural on the mic, Jenkins began receiving requests from major club proprietors in search of an emcee able to maintain an energetic pace for their key evenings and events. Within a year's time, Ra-Ra built
a reputation as one of the most in demand emcee/hosts in the metropolitan area. In 2005, The Washington Post Sunday Source labeled Ra-Ra as the "Party Starter" With a schedule that touts a Monday thru Sunday routine, Jenkins has hosted in venues such as H2o Restaurant & Lounge, Ozio, Avenue Night Club, the Zebra Lounge, Pearl, Paper Moon, Felix, Eyebar, K. Street Lounge, Steve's Bar Room, Bar Nun, Jin, Love, Ibiza, Ultra Bar, Gallery, Cafe' Asia, Zanzibars, Harrison's (Miami, FL), M Bar (Houston, TX) Pasha, Play Lounge, Heritage Restaurant & Lounge, Republic Gardens, Felix Lounge, Mirrors, FUR Nightclub, and 1223.One of Ra-Ra's most recognized hosting achievements was in November 2006 as he hosted for Jay-Z during Def Jam's Jay- Z Hanger Tour with MTV in recognition of Jay-Z's debut album "Kingdom Come".Ra-Ra has emceed events with artists, celebrities, athletes, and marquee deejays such as Jay- Z, Memphis Bleek, Raheem Devaughn, R.
