Homefront GroupsSince its inception, ASY has highlighted the tremendous works of more than 350 nonprofit homefront groups who support our troops by writing letters , sending care packages , helping the wounded when they return home , assisting military families , and participating in countless acts that boost morale and sustain faith. ASY is a name for millions of people who support our troops... people like you!
About UsIn 2004, the Department of Defense launched a program aimed at helping the American people show our troops that we cherish their service. The name of the program — America Supports You (ASY) — defines its mission. Today, ASY serves as a conduit to convey the nation's enormous outpouring of support and gratitude for our troops.
Indeed, the response of the American people — from the grassroots level to the halls of Congress to the top tiers of corporate America — has been overwhelmingly generous and enthusiastic. Nationwide programs like the ASY Freedom Walk and the Giving Thanks text-messaging campaign illustrate a true spirit of patriotism, compassion and appreciation.
