Crawling from the ashes the Phoenix rises!
Unit S is the culmination of one man, crossing over several music genres.
My influences starting way back would have to be Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Flock of Seagulls, U2, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, BOC, Spyro Gyra, INXS and many more.
Music that I have come to appreciate would have to be Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Tony Bennett, Cream, The Verve, SRV, Snoop Dogg, 2 Live Crew, Tone Loc and many more.
Music to me is an experience.
Music is relative.
Music can deliver a message.
Music can be a passage to another era.
Music is creativity.
Music can be anything you make it, so make it your own!
Harmonic Rhapsody by Unit S
By definition a rhapsody is a freeform musical composition. A composition that is often irregular in form, emotional in effect, and improvisational in nature. Relating to harmony, this song culminates the essence of what I try to create with music. It is what draws me to music and feeds the life force of my soul.
Sunsets of Change by Unit S
Sunsets of Change is a song about change in my life and in the lives of people, as well as the effects of change, relationships and the like. I usually like to throw a guitar solo in my songs and think this one was fitting for this song.
Legions of People by Unit S
This is a song about modern day life as some if not most people know it or may have experienced at sometime in their life. My early influences of Led Zeppelin and Judas Priest might be recognized in this song as well as others. The use of a Vox pedal and tremolo are noticeable to the trained ear.
Rock The Bones by Unit S
This is a song about an amalgam. A woman or women that I have run across in my life and have enjoyed the pleasures of life and love. I came up with the rhythm guitar riffs for this song late one night and loved the sound so much I knew I had to put them to use. So I really created the song around those riffs.
Light from the Dark by Unit S
Light from the Dark is a song about how light and darkness play in our lives. How we are all one step from darkness, but somehow for the most part stay in the light or near it. Well I can't speak for all people but most probably fall in this category.
Feel Alright by Unit S
Feel Alright is kind of my spin on rock with a few other genres included. I love different kinds of music or genres and wanted to throw a song out that contained these influences. My primary ax is a Fender fat strat, but I also use a Gibson copy that has a different pleasing tone.
Sweet Sounds Abound by Unit S
I came up with this song, thinking about how some of the great Jazz artists would jam privately after shows, really lettin' it hang out.
