TIMOR

Timor was founded in spring 2004, when drummer Dave Schlumpf met guitarist Nico Schläpfer through a former schoolmate. Both of them were looking for a Metal-band, without preferring any specific direction. After a few jam-sessions both turned out to be influenced by modern Metal, while aiming for a rather fast speed. Not much later, Panos Batsilas joined the band and has added his old-school death metal-riffs to the mixture ever since.
But there was still the need for bass and vocals to complete the band. The former was covered by Lukas Villiger, who had been auditioned by the befriended band Tribes Of Caïn. To take care of the screams and growls, Panos’ friend Yvo Letzkus joined midyear 2004 and already performed at the first gig in October. Although the concert was a big success, Yvo seperated from Timor due to musical differences.
During the search for an adequate singer, Lukas replaced Yvo for the next few performances, which worked out better than initially thought, so this formation has existed until the present day. In late December 2004, the band enjoyed their first studio-experience while recording a Demo-CD, which was released shortly after. Since then, the quintet has proven itself as a strong live-band, which was confirmed by many positive feedbacks and booking requests. Therefore Timor already shared the stages with such bands as Nightrage, Mnemic, Dew-Scented, Burden Of Grief, Rotting Christ, Soul Demise or Mystic Circle.
In December 2006 Timor proudly experienced their first tour, as they visited a few European cities supporting Setherial (S). In February 2007, Philipp Eschmann, Drummer of Cruszt, joined Timor as a bassist, so Lukas could fully focus on his lyrics and vocals. Since then, the band has been working on new songs for the Debut-CD. The recording will presumably start in summer 2008.
