About Me

Papilla is a Polish-British group that is inspired by the very thought of avoiding work, thus they play music together in order to save themselves from a life of drudgery and banality. The three members are Pawel Rozkrut (drums), Pawel Grabowski (bass) and Marcin Pasek (vocals and guitar). They have recorded one album so far but as yet they still remain unsigned to any label. They have been together since 2005 and in that time they have played gigs in the Silesian region of Poland and even support to Boney M in 2006 Student Festival "IGRY" to an estimated 20,000 people. This first effort of theirs is a very personal album with the songs having a very 70's feel and touching on subjects such as suicide and alcoholism. They are building a stronger fan base all the time with even the national Polish press taking an interest. They are in the process of recording new material with a more cutting disco/punk feel to it.

Influences: Cold shakes and manic moods A powdered nose and stuck on booze Brain too numb to even speak All too ready to admit I’m weak Face is lined with weeks of dirt Too lazy to even change my shirt I feel my blood pumping round my veins I hate to breathe 'cause there's nothing to gainBut I’m better, I’m better than I ever was beforeMy friends say I’m on the way down I’m down so low, I bounce off the ground They’re all giving me loads of advice I tell them “Man, hey that’s nice” Then I go home and close the door I lie down and hug the floor I cannot walk, I can only crawl But even then I manage to fallBut I’m better, I’m better than I ever was before But I’m better, I’m better than I ever was beforeLet them say that I’m too dumb Too dumb to use a gun and put an end to it all I’ll find another way I’ll say what I’ll say Don’t care if you lose, you’re always the first to choose Hey heyBut I’m better, I’m better than I ever was before But I’m better, I’m better than I ever was before
